🌊✨ Washington DC | My Favorite KAYAK and SUP Spots Are Back! ✨🚣

As soon as the weather gets a little warm, I can’t resist the urge to hit the water! A friend shared that several boating spots are now open, so it’s time to dive in! šŸ’¦ šŸ‘øšŸ» I usually head straight to the ā€œBOATING IN DCā€ website, pick a location/activity, and book online. Every Thursday, there’s a small discount—around $16-17 to get started! 🚣 BOATING IN DC has about seven spots for kayaking and paddleboarding, including the Tidal Basin Pedal Boats in spring. The other six are: Ballpark Boathouse Fletcher's Boathouse Key Bridge Boathouse The Wharf Boathouse Thompson Boathouse Washington Sailing Marina Activities vary by location, including kayaking, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), hydro bikes, canoeing, and sailing. You can choose single or double options based on your preferences. šŸ‘øšŸ» My personal favorite is Key Bridge Boathouse. For someone like me who’s all about fun, this spot has it all! I’ve tried single and double kayaks and SUPs here, and the experience is always amazing. It feels like you can go anywhere in a tiny boat! The mix of city and nature views is perfect—you can see the Kennedy Center, the Washington Monument, and Georgetown all at once. I love going at sunset—the scenic bridge, sparkling water, lush riverbanks, and gentle breeze make it so relaxing. šŸŒ… āš ļø Tips: You’ll likely get wet, but that’s part of the fun! When I’m on a SUP, I just embrace it and let myself get soaked. šŸ˜‚ Book for 1 or 2 hours on the website. For me, 1 hour is enough—my arms are sore the next day! Always prioritize safety and know your limits. Swimming is not allowed in the Potomac River, and the water isn’t the cleanest. Just enjoy the boating! Once, I stayed in the water too long, and my feet got cold—ended up with a stomachache for days. No prior experience or qualifications are required for kayaking or SUP. Just take it slow, stay safe, and have fun! The website also offers lessons and tours if you’re interested. Last year, they had moonlight kayaking and fireworks kayaking events. When I’m kayaking through the lush riverbanks or lying flat on my SUP, paddling with my hands and feet, I feel so connected to nature. It’s pure, wild joy! I’m obsessed and can’t wait to do it all again this summer! šŸŒæšŸ’¦ #WashingtonDC #DCAdventures #Kayaking
