Washington DC · Rose’s Luxury Affordable Michelin dining marvel ❗
💰 $115+ plus a 3.5% i82 fee + tax + tip After Pineapple & Pearls and Little Pearl, I finally made it to Aaron Silverman’s other Michelin-starred restaurant, Rose’s Luxury. It should be the most veteran of the three, celebrating ten years since its opening! The menus of all three are full of whimsy, and the dining experience is enhanced with surprises and clever ideas. True to form, Rose’s did not disappoint me this time! The facade is decorated in a cute pastel green, perfect for photos, love it! The menu is a 5-course affair with appetizers, pasta, main course, and desserts, all of which require choosing one from a selection. Special aromatic 🍞 made with two types of flour! The crust is crispy, and the inside is soft, paired with a special honey butter that’s incredibly fragrant. Signature dish! ICE CREAM, CAVIAR & HAPPINESS – Coconut ice cream with caviar! A perfect blend of salty and sweet! Serving dessert as an appetizer is truly whimsical 🤣 Exactly the kind of quirkiness I expected. Italian-style fried rice cakes! A hybrid creation where Italy meets Korea. I didn’t really taste the Italian noodles, haha, just rice cakes! But they were delicious, sweet and spicy, very satisfying! (Surprise!) Lamb Ragu Mafaldine – As expected from Aaron Silverman’s restaurants, a surprise off-menu dish appeared! The seasoning was spot on, with a hint of acidity, and the ragu spices were not overpowering, truly delicious! These two pastas were served together, one sweet and spicy, the other salty and fragrant, complementing each other well, very clever. Beef short ribs, a massive portion! It had a Korean-style marinade flavor, salty and sweet, and it came with rice. Finishing it off was very satisfying 😋 The fifth course was a huge dessert (the menu says “slightly-ridiculously-sized desserts” 🤣) I chose the coconut tres leches cake, topped with a crispy, toasted coconut layer. The tres leches are milk, coconut milk, and heavy cream. The cake is soaked in the milk, like a sponge, with cinnamon added (not a fan 🤪), and it was too sweet, the portion was enormous (the menu says one serving is for 2.9 people, which is funny and true), I couldn’t finish it. There’s also a $35 off-menu supplement option, which is fried chicken, but I was too full to try it. Souvenir: To my surprise, it was a homemade cacio e pepe kit, with rigatoni, a seasoning packet, and instructions for me to experiment with at home! #FoodExploration #MichelinRestaurant #WashingtonDCFood #DateNightRestaurant #RestaurantRecommendations #HiddenGemRestaurant #AtmosphericRestaurant #GlobalEatingSquad #Michelin #MichelinStar
