Washington DC Mediterranean Food – Flawed but Photogenic 📸🌮
Agora DC Mediterranean Restaurant 📍1527 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20036 【Grilled Octopus】 Rating: 6/10 A leg of octopus that left me speechless for three seconds 🐙🤐. Expected it to be chewy and bouncy, but it was surprisingly soft—even grandma could eat it 👵🍴. Served with black-eyed peas that were quite sour—great for lemon lovers! 🍋 【Sampler Platter】 Rating: 7/10 A meeting of dips! All yogurt-based and leaning toward tangy 🥣. Several white dips tasted mainly of lemon—not much variety. The hummus tasted like… hummus. Comes with crushed olives in olive oil and fresh pita bread—filling and classic 🫓. 【Ali Nazik Kebap】 Rating: 7/10 Sautéed minced beef sirloin with onions, on a bed of garlic yogurt sauce 🧄🥩. Overall quite sour—better when wrapped in pita! 【Mixed Mushrooms】 Rating: ⚠️/10 Five types of mushrooms with goat cheese 🍄🧀… a total landmine! The goat cheese had a strong gamey flavor—like biting into a goat’s behind 🐐💥. I like lamb, but this was too much—only for the adventurous! 【Lamb Chops】 Rating: 6/10 Standard grilled lamb chops with broccoli, onions, and peppers 🥦🌶️. Pretty average—served lukewarm without that rich grilled aroma. Honestly, I grill better at home 🏡🔥. 【Adana Kebap】 Rating: 7/10 A classic kebab made with mixed lamb and beef—the only dish that met expectations! Solid and reliable 🍢✅. Overall Review: Almost every dish I ordered was sour-dominated 🍋😅. Not ideal if you’re not into tangy flavors. But—the plating is gorgeous 💐, portions are small and prices are high 💸, yet the restaurant's ambiance is lovely and super Instagram-friendly! 📸💖 #FoodReview #DCEats #DMVFood #WashingtonDCFood #BayAreaEats #HonestReview #MediterraneanCuisine #NorthAmericanLife #FoodPhotography #DCrestaurant #SkipOrTry #MiddleEasternFood #PrettyPlates #NotForEveryone #TryAtYourOwnRisk
