Washington Food Desert? This French Restaurant is an Oasis!

🌟 We came to Washington D.C. to see the cherry blossoms this weekend and stumbled upon this French gem in Georgetown. We decided to give it a try on a whim and didn’t expect it to be the best French brunch we’ve had in our 8 years in America!!! Strongly recommended to everyone. Chez Billy Sud translates to “the house of Billy,” Billy’s private kitchen. The restaurant feels like you’re a guest in someone’s home, with a fresh and simple decor, and the service is very warm. We didn’t have a reservation as we came on a whim, and the place was almost full. The receptionist saw a table getting ready to leave and the next reservation hadn’t arrived yet, so she promptly seated us. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees, and they were all fantastic! 1️⃣ FOIE DE VOLAILLE | Chicken liver pâté with baguette 🥖 Their homemade chicken liver pâté is a feast for the senses! No bitterness, smooth texture, and rich flavor. The pâté is topped with a sauce that’s like a braised flavor, paired with freshly baked baguette, it’s unforgettable. 2️⃣ ESCARGOTS | French snails 🐌 The snails here are cooked to perfection, not too salty or greasy. The snails are tender, paired with parsley garlic butter, and topped with a crispy crust. 3️⃣ OMELETTE | French omelette 🍳 The best omelette I’ve ever had! I can’t figure out how they manage to fry the eggs so perfectly! The eggs are filled with a rich creamy cheese flavor that melts in your mouth! 4️⃣ LOUP DE MER | Seared sea bass The sea bass is seared to perfection! The skin is crispy with a roasted flavor, while the flesh remains tender.
