Maybe it’s the perfect, sunny weather or the incredible memories I have with my family and friends, but there’s something about it that will always have my heart. Here are some of my personal favorite things to do when I find myself in the Golden state. * Ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and see the stunning nature scenery in the mountains: I did this for the first time with my cousins when I was 14, and the sights were enough to make even the moodiest of teenagers (me) absolutely swoon. * Have ice cream at Malibu farms : My mom considers the marshmallow ice cream from the Malibu Farms location on the Malibu boardwalk to be the greatest ice cream of all time. It’s a delicacy that she has described as “a cup of heaven” and I can’t help but agree. * Take a drive down the PCH: As someone who (obviously) does not have a car here in NYC, it’s always a treat to take a drive with friends down the winding paths of the pacific coast highway and take in the houses, beaches and if we’re lucky, beautiful sunsets. * Take the Universal Studios backlot tour: This is something I’ve found myself doing on every LA trip I’ve ever taken, both with my family and best friends. I’m quite the film lover and this is definitely the most unique tour I’ve taken. But then again, maybe it’s the company that makes it. Either way, my trips are never complete without it. And just like that, you’re one step closer to planning the ultimate California getaway . Whether you’re in it for the sunshine, the food, the views, or the vibes, the Golden State has a way of making every trip feel special. So book the flight, pack the layers, and get ready to fall a little bit in love—California will be waiting . Source: https://secretnyc.co/new-yorkers-favorite-no-passport-escape-california-2026/
