Weekend Day Trip to Lake Arrowhead 🌲✨

California sunshine never disappoints! I’d heard of Lake Arrowhead long ago but only recently planned a visit — here’s our perfect one-day escape! 📍 First Stop: Heaps Peak Arboretum Day Use Area A beautiful Redwood Loop Trail 🌳 Parking is roadside — $5 fee at the entrance. Start from the left side for an easy, scenic loop that’s gentle and relaxing. 📍 Second Stop: MacKay Recreational Park A hilltop community park with stunning views 🍂 Looks like a simple neighborhood park, but overlooks the autumn-colored town below. Great for kids too — there’s a zip line and slide! 📍 Third Stop: Lake Arrowhead Village The heart of the lake area 🏞️ Busy on weekends — parking can be tight, but try behind Stater Bros. Markets. The second floor of McDonald’s offers gorgeous lake views ☀️, and the ground-floor windows frame lovely scenes. Stroll along the lakefront — the shops are quaint and unique 🛍️. Grab some duck feed to interact with the ducks 🦆, and pick up reasonably priced souvenirs. Note: Inland Empire Model Railroaders was closed during our visit — check hours before going!
