I had the opportunity last year to finally visit Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding area. I drive up through the mountains from Rancho Cucamonga to check out the area, and I have to say it was a great day trip. Lake Arrowhead village is home to the rich and celebrities of all walks of life. Be on the lookout as you might walk right by someone famous. Be wary of the parking at the central parking lot is hard to find a space to park, so I chose the multi-level covered parking in the 'Upper Village'. Luckily the day I decided to visit was during Octoberfest so I had a couple of Spatans and went exploring. The village shopping area has a European style architecture and feel, it's almost like being in Alps of bavarian, Austria or Switzerland. There is much to do while you are in the village, you can go hiking, shopping, you can eat at the many restaurants or just walk around an enjoy the scenery. I decided after walking around the village and checking out the shops to take a cruise around the lake. The Lake Arrowhead Queen is the Boat that takes you around the lake. The tour guide will point out historical facts, some of the celebrity homes and gives you a really good explanation of the history and facts about the area. I do recommend the Boat Tour.
Pros - Lots to do Hiking trails Restaurants Shops Boat Tour Plenty of Parking
Cons Its a busy place on the...
