π Weekend Getaway | Charlotte, NC π Itinerary + Food Guide
Escaped the gloomy rain of New York to Charlotteβs sunshine β instant mood lifter! TT Hereβs a mixed bag of things I did + Southern-style food recommendations ππ π NBA: Hornets vs. Nuggets First NBA game β the vibe was electric! π You can hang out at the bar area for a different view. β οΈ Note: Check venue bag policies in advance β only very small clutches/wallets are allowed. The Hornets arena doesnβt offer bag storage βοΈ A kind staffer suggested I empty my bag and βhide it in the bushesββ¦ and it was still there after 2+ hours! π π Mint Museum Lovely art museum πΌοΈ β many have recommended it. BOA cardholders get in free, or use student ID for a discount! π Haberdish (3106 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205) Classic Southern food β their fried chicken is delicious π! Be prepared to wait during peak hours. π Mac Tabby Cat Cafe (3204 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205) A cute cat cafΓ© near Haberdish! π±β The space is well-designed (coffee and cat areas are separate). The surrounding area is a converted factory district with vintage shops and cafes β highly recommend exploring! π Gravity Sourdough Pizza (1824 Statesville Ave Ste. 101, Charlotte, NC 28206) Sourdough pizza spot in another converted factory block! π I tried the Tommy Boy Pizza β uniquely sweet and tasty. The area is also full of cool little shops. π Coastal Kitchen & Bar (222 E 3rd St, Charlotte, NC 28202) Inside a Hilton hotel but open to all π! Loved the Cowboy Burger β the fried chicken skin was chefβs kiss π π Tupelo Honey (101 S Tryon St Suite 130, Charlotte, NC 28280) Super popular fried chicken spot π! Best to reserve on weekends β otherwise, try your luck at the bar. I had half fried chicken + a fried shrimp sandwich β so flavorful! π The Absury (235 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202) Cozy spot with great service π§! Try the FARRO RISOTTO if you love cheese β itβs super filling. #WinterTravel #WeekendGetaway #StudyAbroadLife #FoodDiary #Charlotte #NorthCarolina #TravelUSA
