Weekend Joy | Children’s Opera on the Baseball Field 🎶🌿
This weekend, I headed to Nationals Park—home of the Washington Nationals baseball team—but not for a baseball game! ⚾️ Instead, I stretched out on the grassy outfield under the late summer breeze and enjoyed a lovely children’s opera performance. 🎭 📍 About the Venue: Nationals Park is a Major League Baseball (MLB) stadium, usually packed with cheering fans holding beers 🍺 and hot dogs 🌭. But this time, it was transformed into a gentle open-air theater! Lying on the grass while watching the show on the giant screen was such a vibe—100% relaxing and magical. 💫 🎶 The Performance: The children’s opera was broadcast live in high definition on the stadium’s big screen. The music was bright, the story was sweet and upbeat, and with the blue sky and fluffy clouds above ☁️—it felt like being part of a community arts festival. So cozy and joyful! 💡 A Little Baseball Culture Insight: In the U.S., baseball isn’t just a sport—it’s a weekend family activity. Lots of people bring kids and friends to the ballpark not necessarily for the rules, but for the relaxing, social atmosphere. Picnicking on the grass and watching an opera? It’s all part of that same community spirit! 👨👩👧👦❤️ 🌅 After the Show: We took a stroll to the nearby Anacostia Riverwalk after the performance. The evening breeze and sunset painting the sky were absolutely romantic~ ✨ It felt like the perfect way to wrap up a fulfilling weekend. Have you ever been to a non-sports event at a stadium?
