What I Ate in Kansas City in 3 Days & 2 Nights π½οΈ
π Q39 Lived up to its reputation β huge portions! I ordered brisket + ribs with veggies π, plus their famous onion straws. The onion straws were super thin, crispy, and only a few dollars for a giant plate β though a bit too salty. The ribs were better than the brisket β fall-off-the-bone tender! Also, the bartender was quite a sight π: classic Midwest vibe, all in black, full tattoo sleeves, blond side-parted hair, andβ¦ well, letβs just say he had great energy π. π©πͺ Affare Surprisingly elegant German food in Kansas City! Had the seasonal white asparagus soup β creamy and subtly sweet. Main course was duck liver + scallops β rich and flavorful. Paired with a Riesling π· (my favorite white wine β notes of pear, apple, and honey). Dessert was a Black Forest cake β not too sweet, just perfect! Couldnβt finish it, so took it to-go for breakfast the next day. So satisfying! π₯ Shatto Milk Tried the famous Shatto milk β no need to go to Hen House, itβs available in most supermarkets. Sampled the chocolate and strawberry flavors β both delicious and not overly sweet! π Jack Stack For $15, you get a massive portion of sausages and burnt ends (the famous crispy BBQ bits). But honestly, it was way too greasy β couldnβt finish it. Overall, I think Iβve had enough American BBQ for a while π . Seeing so many overweight people on the streets here really makes me want to hit the gymβ¦ #KansasCityFood #KansasCity #TravelDiary #BBQ
