What I Ate in Kansas City in 3 Days & 2 Nights 🍽️

🍖 Q39 Lived up to its reputation — huge portions! I ordered brisket + ribs with veggies 😜, plus their famous onion straws. The onion straws were super thin, crispy, and only a few dollars for a giant plate — though a bit too salty. The ribs were better than the brisket — fall-off-the-bone tender! Also, the bartender was quite a sight 👀: classic Midwest vibe, all in black, full tattoo sleeves, blond side-parted hair, and… well, let’s just say he had great energy 😋. 🇩🇪 Affare Surprisingly elegant German food in Kansas City! Had the seasonal white asparagus soup — creamy and subtly sweet. Main course was duck liver + scallops — rich and flavorful. Paired with a Riesling 🍷 (my favorite white wine — notes of pear, apple, and honey). Dessert was a Black Forest cake — not too sweet, just perfect! Couldn’t finish it, so took it to-go for breakfast the next day. So satisfying! 🥛 Shatto Milk Tried the famous Shatto milk — no need to go to Hen House, it’s available in most supermarkets. Sampled the chocolate and strawberry flavors — both delicious and not overly sweet! 🍖 Jack Stack For $15, you get a massive portion of sausages and burnt ends (the famous crispy BBQ bits). But honestly, it was way too greasy — couldn’t finish it. Overall, I think I’ve had enough American BBQ for a while 😅. Seeing so many overweight people on the streets here really makes me want to hit the gym… #KansasCityFood #KansasCity #TravelDiary #BBQ
