Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

When visiting Nepal, I recommend spending two days in Bhaktapur.

Last night, I switched cities from Kathmandu to Bhaktapur, and it's truly wonderful here. The air is fresh, the roads are flat and clean, there are no motorcycles darting around, and there aren't many commercialized shops. More locals are wearing traditional clothing. All the attractions are within walking distance in the ancient city, which feels a bit like switching from Bangkok to Chiang Mai—very comfortable and perfect for a laid-back stay. In the morning, Lu was still sleeping, so I took a casual walk outside. It truly feels like there's a temple at every step, and the scenery is everywhere. Both adults and children greet me and say hello. They are very warm and friendly. For shopping, it's more cost-effective to buy here than in Thamel, Kathmandu. There are many beautiful traditional-style clothes, which I think are more exquisite than hippie clothing. Each piece is unique and doesn't come in duplicates (I don't know why their clothing stores have only one of each item). Traditional attire usually includes a skirt, trousers, and a shawl or scarf, and a set costs about 80-100 yuan. Delicious restaurants: 1. Namaste Restaurant • It has an excellent window view overlooking the square. Just tell the staff to bring traditional Indian dishes with a less salty taste. You can always get more food if you finish, and they will make sure you are full. I added two more servings and still managed to clean my plate. 2. Himalayan Java Coffee • This is a chain store, similar to Nepal's version of Starbucks. If you don't know what to eat, this is a good choice. The food quality is guaranteed. They offer pasta, Benedict eggs, and other Western-style dishes. They also have some exclusive Nepalese specialty drinks. For example, I tried the turmeric milk (not recommended for those who dislike ginger). Accommodation: You can stay at Hotel Nag Pukhu. A double room for two nights costs only 300 yuan. It's cheap and comfortable, with a small courtyard and includes breakfast. It's just 200 meters away from the Woodcarving Museum. #NepalTravel #TempleTour #LaidBackCity #TravelLikeALocal #NepaleseClothing #ExoticCharm
