đWhy Jeju Is My Top Recommendation
đ„I visited Jeju a while backâbooked the flight on Tuesday and arrived Thursday night. Spending three full days there (Friday to Sunday) was perfect: staying longer wouldâve felt boring, and shorter wouldnât have let me experience it properly. This was my second trip to Jeju, and Iâd definitely say spring is the way to goâthe sea is truly stunning. I caught a glimpse of rapeseed flowers, but they were past their prime; the cherry blossoms had all fallen too, which was a small regret.đ Plus, South Korea đ°đ· is seriously a paradise for drinking and coffee. Prices are super affordable: soju for ~6 RMB a bottle, giant iced Americanos for ~10 RMB, and all kinds of delicious drinks.đ Compared to Japan (often hailed as a âtop-tierâ travel spot), Jeju has much more budget-friendly prices. Letâs break it down against Okinawa: đ Taxis: 8 /km in Jeju vs. 25 RMB/km in Japan. đ Buses: 6 per ride in Jeju (unlimited distance!) with free transfers within 30 minutes; in Okinawa, itâs 12 per ride with no free transfers. For a 40km trip from north to south, Jejuâs bus still costs 6 âOkinawaâs would be 90 . đ Soup rice: 40-50 gets you a meal with a spread of side dishes that feel like a âstate banquet.â Every restaurant has its own carefully prepared banchan (side dishes)âno boring, repetitive flavors, which I loved. đš Hotels: Cheap but spotlessly clean. Great scenery, low costs, and a fantastic experienceâflights are only an hour long, ticket prices are cheap, and most importantly, itâs visa-free. You can pack your bags and go on a whim. With flights and accommodation included, you can easily circle the island without breaking the bank. Why go to âKorean Streetsâ in cities later? If you want to experience Korean culture and eat authentic Korean food, just head to Jeju! đ #MyHiddenGemIsland #OffTheBeatenPathDestinations #IslandGetaway #UniqueVacationSpots #Jeju #WorldHeritageSite #LesserKnownRoutes
