Witnessed a massive aurora outbreak on the first night in Yellowknife

🧊 Yellowknife is truly the best place in Canada to see the aurora.🐒 You can catch a glimpse of the aurora about 360 days a year! 🗼 🏔️On the night we arrived, we headed straight to the campsite right after getting off the plane and were lucky enough to witness a massive aurora outbreak. ⛲ 👉👈Ribbons of green, purple, and pink auroras shimmered and danced across the night sky, spanning a huge area, and were clearly visible to the naked eye. 👀 What amazing luck!🙉🙉 Recommended Attractions😻😻 Yellowknife is small, divided into downtown and Old Town. The two main hotels are in downtown, where most tourists stay.🏠🏘️ Within a 10-minute walk from there, you’ll find grocery stores, Shoppers Drug Mart, and souvenir shops🏦, making it convenient to buy souvenirs and daily necessities. ⛩️You can also walk from the hotel to visit the museum and the Legislative Assembly, which are full of local charm.😃 Old Town is a community where Indigenous people live, with rows of cute little houses🏚️. Guides will drive 🚖🚖you around for a tour. It takes about 20 minutes to walk👣👣 from Old Town to downtown. Recommended Activities💕 Chasing the aurora every night is a must, of course. Besides that, snowmobiling🌨️ and dog🐶 sledding come highly recommended. A snowmobile tour lasts about an hour—led by an instructor, you’ll get to drive your own snowmobile around Great Slave Lake. 💧 For dog sledding, around 14 dogs pull a sled with four people, and the 15-minute ride through the snow🌨️-covered small forest🌲🌳 feels like a scene from a movie, with stunning views. Near the campsite, you can also roast marshmallows, play on the snow🛷 slide, and the snow-covered landscape is perfect for taking great photos. Recommended Food🌹 👉👈Because Yellowknife is small and transportation is inconvenient, there are very few restaurants in town.🌷 - 🏅 Bullock’s Bistro is highly recommended, with their specialty being fried and grilled fish🐟—fresh ingredients and generous portions. - For Chinese food, 🏅 Red Apple is a good choice, with tasty dishes and a decent variety. - For fast food🍉🍊🍎, you can go to A&W near the hotel, or use DoorDash to get McDonald’s delivered to your hotel. The hotel’s own restaurant 🍳is also worth a try🌻 However, Uber Eats isn’t available in this area, so options are limited!🍔 #Travel #StarrySky #Aurora #NorthernLights #Yellowknife #Yellowknife
