Yangon CITY WALK 🚶♂️
Yangon’s downtown area is compact, with most attractions within walking distance—perfect for a city walk! If you don’t feel like walking, ride-hailing is convenient, with Grab fares around 10 RMB per trip. Must-Visit Spots in Yangon 🌆 ❶ Shwedagon Pagoda 🏮 Yangon’s most iconic landmark! Entrance fee: 20,000 MMK. The golden stupa glows beautifully at night when lit up. Note: Currently under renovation (wrapped in scaffolding), but still dazzling. Reminder: Shoes & socks must be removed before entering any Burmese temple. No shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops. ❷ Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple 🪷 Free entry! Home to a massive reclining Buddha with 108 auspicious symbols carved on its feet, representing the 108 cycles of reincarnation. ❸ British Colonial Buildings 🏛️ A relic of Myanmar’s colonial past—most are now abandoned, except for a small section used as a school. Entry: 5,000 MMK. Great for photos! ❹ St. Mary’s Cathedral ⛪ Yangon’s largest church, with pretty pink walls. Located next to the colonial buildings. (Unfortunately, it was closed when I visited—could only snap pics outside!) ❺ Circular Train Head to Central Railway Station and buy tickets at Platform 7 (or Platform 5 if under renovation, 800 MMK). The old Japanese-era train rattles along slowly—doors stay open, and locals hop on/off freely. A unique experience! ❻ National Museum 🖼️ Explore Myanmar’s culture & history. Unlike Chinese museums, most exhibits aren’t behind glass—just a "DO NOT TOUCH" sign. (Loved the oil painting collection!) ❼ Sule Pagoda & City Hall 🏙️ Near the colonial buildings, Sule Pagoda stands beside City Hall. For the best photo spot, visit Rio Coffee (3rd floor)—great views of both landmarks! Final Thoughts 💭 Yangon feels peaceful and safe, with no visible signs of conflict. Locals are friendly and welcoming. Of course, always stay cautious—stick to crowded areas and avoid returning too late at night. #Myanmar #MyanmarTravel #Yangon #ShwedagonPagoda #CityWalk #TravelDiaries #NationalMuseum #SulePagoda #CircularTrain #ExploreMyanmar 🌏✨
