🔪 Successful 5-Day 4-Night Aurora Chase in Yellowknife 💯 1️⃣ Started aurora chasing right after landing on the first day. 🎄 Unfortunately, there was only a faint glow—barely visible to the naked eye, only captured by the camera.☁️ 2️⃣ Spent the second day sightseeing downtown, picking up certificates and souvenirs 🔪. Super lucky to witness a massive aurora outbreak that night‼️ 3️⃣ Went dog sledding on the third day. It snowed heavily, creating the perfect vibe .🤔🤔 There were also slides and bonfires for roasting marshmallows—so much fun! But the night chase was clouded over by snow, no auroras in sight ☀️☀️ 4️⃣ Had free time on the fourth day, wandering and eating downtown.☄️☄️ Originally planned to add an extra night if we’d missed the auroras earlier.😍😍 🥘 Food Recommendations 🐟 Bullocks Bistro (popular grilled fish restaurant) Arctic Char with pan-fried is delicious—super tender and sweet. But the restaurant has heavy.which stings the eyes 👀👀 🥩 Coyote's Family Steakhouse (steakhouse) Buffalo Ribeye is incredibly flavorful.✨✨ 🧥 Clothing Guide - Definitely bring contact lenses—glasses fog up badly, so uncomfortable 😓😓 - Wear grade 3+ thermal gloves 🧤—my fingers got frostbitten and hurt for days - Stick hand warmers in your shoes—feet get freezing cold 👢. - For dog sledding, wrap a scarf around your face—the wind is biting 🧣. 💫 Aurora-Chasing Tips 🌤️ Clear skies mean no aurora🤡🤡 🌨️ Cloudy/snowy days have thick clouds—hard to see unless there’s a bright outbreak (warm spells often bring snow).❄️❄️ 🌕 Most big outbreaks happen during a full moon‼️ But a bright moon can hide faint auroras🤔. 👣👣Weather forecasts are unreliable—it changes fast. Aurora prediction apps are just a reference. Our big outbreak night only showed a KP index of 2, so it’s all luck 🙏. Just go for it! Leave the rest to the weather 🔆 Wishing everyone success in chasing the auroras! Good luck 🪄 📍 Yellowknife, Canada 🇨🇦 #Yellowknife #Aurora #Lighthouse #Nightview
