Yesterland Farm: A Country Disney Near Dallas

šŸ“On October 12th, my best friend and I took our kids to Yesterland Farm in Canton again. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to drive there from McKinney. I’ve been there three times in four years. Yesterday, a colleague asked me about bringing their kids, so I thought I’d share my experience: šŸ’¢Buying Tickets Online: It’s cheaper to buy tickets online than at the gate. The first year, I didn’t know any better and bought tickets with Tokens. We found out after entering the park at 5 p.m. that most places accepting Tokens were already closed. The second time, we barely used them up. If you have young kids, you can buy one or two sets to exchange for feed to give to the animals, pan for minerals, or shoot BB guns. Older kids can skip the Tokens. Just waiting in line for the attractions is fine, and kids under 12 should love it. The fireworks start promptly at 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. ✨Parking and Facilities: There’s no parking fee, and staff will direct you. The entire area is very dusty, so don’t wash your car before going. Bring shoes that can get dirty and are easy to clean. We had sand in our noses when we got home. This place isn’t for those who dislike getting dirty. The restrooms are portable, and you need to pump water to wash your hands. I suggest bringing wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and disposable gloves (for handling food). šŸ“Strollers and Wagons: It’s a good idea to bring strollers or wagons. There’s a big temperature difference between morning and evening, so you can store extra clothes and food in them. Kids can also take a nap if they get tired. I saw some families bring coolers. 🄾Payments and Food: The park doesn’t accept cash; you need to pay by card. The food tastes pretty good, and the prices are in the photos. Bottled water costs $3.50 per bottle, which is too expensive, so bring your own water. Adults can buy alcohol inside, so bring your ID. You’ll get a wristband when you enter, allowing you to come and go as many times as you want that day. You can even go out to eat and come back. On the way back to Dallas, we stopped by Buc-ee’s to refuel, get our car washed, and pick up some beef jerky. #HalloweenActivities #DallasLife
