YOSHINO Comes to Boston! | Yoshida Omakase Review 🍣✨
After two weeks of anticipation, Chef Yoshida finally arrived in Boston! I even called to confirm the pop-up wasn’t a scam—lol! With $500+ per person pricing (same as NYC’s Yoshino), expectations were sky-high... but the meal left me mixed. 📍 Yoshida Omakase 51 Massachusetts Ave, Boston, MA 02115 🍽️ The Bites: 🔸 Snow Crab + Uni + Caviar: Uni was a tad fishy, and the tiny cup made eating awkward. 🔸 Fried Kinmedai with Black Vinegar: Delicious but served lukewarm—timing issue? 🔸 Grilled Mackerel "Qing Qing" Sushi: Chef’s adorable singing ritual remains iconic! (NYC version still superior.) 🔸 Tamago: Caramelized perfection—still my favorite! 👨🍳 Chef Tony’s Additions: 🔸 Wagyu: Solid, but Australian truffles felt lackluster. 🔸 Foie Gras + Berry Sauce: Sauce saved it from being too rich. 🔸 Abalone + Eggplant: Weird alone, better combined. 🔸 Sushi Course: Fish quality meh (except the final uni bite—still prefer Murasaki uni!). 🔸 Dessert: PEACH + MANGO + VANILLA MOUSSE = best dish of the night! 😍 ⚠️ Nitpicks: • Table vs. Counter: No price difference, but counter = better vibes. • Photo Fail: Sushi plates were aesthetic nightmares (bring back traditional dishes!). 🌟 Silver Linings: • Reuniting with Chef Yoshida + Chef Gang (who remembered me—aw!). • Hopeful for Round 2—maybe Boston’s menu will improve? #BostonOmakase #Yoshino #SushiLovers #HighEndDining
