Zagreb Food & Travel Diary
š„ Bakeries & Quick Bites ā Duravica (chain bakery) ā Delicious ā¬1.9-2.1 pizza slices & assorted pastries (sweet/savory) for just ā¬1-2! ā Dinara Bakery ā Our go-to breakfast spot near the iconic Red Umbrella Market (thanks to staying at Kaptol Hostel right across from Zagreb Cathedral). ā El Greco (Greek fast food on foodie street Ul. Ivana TkalÄiÄa) ā Went twice! Highlights: š„Gyros Sandwich (ā¬6): Chicken = tender, pork = chewy (in a good way). š„Pitta Bread & Besant Salad (ā¬7.5) with refreshing Greek yogurt dressing (because veggies are a luxury in Europe!). š½ļø Restaurants š„Nokturno (on charming Skalinska ul.) ā Packed with outdoor seating! Ordered: š°Spaghetti Bolognese (best meat sauce ever!) š°Black Risotto & "Special" Pizza (aka ham-mushroom) š°Left a few ⬠tip (apparently a Zagreb custom). šļø Local Souvenirs & Shopping šKredenca ā A boutique gift shop (not your average fridge magnets!) selling: šLocal wines (tried Fiumhnka ā sweet-spicy & unique! Bought a 200ml bottle for ā¬14). šHandmade soaps, spices & crafts. āMüller (on Ban JelaÄiÄ Square) ā 5-floor supermarket with everything (even rare Ravensburger puzzles!). āCroatiaās Best Ice Cream (also on the square) ā Looked adorable, but didnāt get to try. Anyone confirm if itās truly the best? š Culture & Markets š¹Znanje Bookstore ā Great for books, local puzzles (stationery lovers, this is your spot!). š¹Red Umbrella Market ā Right by Zagreb Cathedral! Stocked up on fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses & Croatian cured meats (basement has more stalls). #ZagrebEats #CroatianFood #RedUmbrellaMarket #ZagrebRestaurants
