1st Pic: Mushroom chicken quiche and ice drip coffee at coffee code
The coffee is really good and very strong. It's a little bit acidic but overall it's pretty nice. Served in a mini glass bottle and poured into an ice cold wine glass, the attention to detail makes it worth the price.
The mushroom chicken quiche is unexpectedly delectable. The mushroom flavor is very pronounced, the crust crumbles as it should instead of being a hardened block of flour like other establishments.
2nd Pic: Beef Bacon and Egg Toast
The toast is remarkable, top notch, best breakfast toast I've ever tasted. Aside from being instagram-worthy (not at all important in my opinion), the toast is thick and crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. It holds the shape outstandingly well, doesn't fall apart when you slice it or hold it. The beef bacon and egg paired with special mayonnaise sauce is mouth-watering.
The Missing 3rd Pic: We dug in and completely demolished the Basque Burnt Hanjuku CheeseCake. It didn't stand a chance so unfortunately we forgot to take a pic.
Cheesecake is made to be creamy, airy and smooth with burnt edges. It's delicately sweet, cheesy and when combined with the burnt taste of the edges, you get a taste of heaven. YES, THAT'S HOW GOOD IT IS. 10/10 and this is coming from someone who was very skeptical of this establishment in the beginning.
TLDR: Amazing Food, Pricey but Worthwhile, Great Ambiance....
Read moreGreat place to try specialty coffee from different origins. I’m really loving their current single origin oat milk latte offerings. I had their Honduras Masaguara bean, and it exudes delicate sweet vanilla aroma, and had tasting notes of milk chocolate with honey-like sweetness. I think this is the first Honduras bean that I actually like. It is pricey but I think it’s definitely worth it.
It would be interesting if they offer a 1+1 menu like what I ordered separately, so that customers can experience the flavour transformation from espresso to milk-based drinks.
Regardless, it’s definitely one of my go to places whenever I’m in Sibu, simply because their wide selections of coffee beans & the consistency of the brew! Highly recommended for coffee lovers!
Service wise it’s good, but I think some of the staff can still improve on their intonation and eye contact when speaking to the customers, especially the FOH as they are the frontline of the coffee shop. They should also have the FOH well informed about the coffee offerings so that they can make fast recommendations to their customers without having to refer to baristas every time questions are asked. Otherwise, they are friendly bunch...
Read moreFirst visit to this branch, and while the menu is straightforward and the ambiance is pleasant, the service experience was disappointing. When requesting additional cutlery, a waitress bluntly said, "self-service, take it yourself" without indicating where to find it. Only after approaching the barista did I manage to locate the cutlery station.
The payment process was also inconvenient where card payments were not accepted, and no clear guidance was provided on alternative payment methods. A more customer-friendly approach, such as politely explaining available options like e-wallets, would have improved the experience.
Given the above-average pricing for a café in Sibu, one would expect better customer service. Poor hospitality can easily overshadow an otherwise good dining atmosphere. With increasing competition from other cafés in the area, The Coffee Code could benefit from improvements in customer engagement, upselling skills, and a more welcoming attitude. A simple smile and better service approach would go a long way in ensuring...
