Ziyafat Restaurant in Shahr Now offers a wonderful dining experience with its awesome decoration, tasty food, and respectful staff. The ambiance is welcoming and environment-friendly, making it an ideal spot for families and friends. The service is quite good, and the overall setting gives a comfortable and enjoyable vibe. However, while most of the experience is excellent, there are some areas that could use improvement: • The Turkish tea unfortunately doesn’t carry the authentic Turkish flavor you’d expect. • The AC in the joint hall doesn’t cool the space effectively, which can be uncomfortable during warm days. • Operationally, there’s room for enhancement. Small but thoughtful touches like unique tea pots, ketchup bottles, and table presentation could elevate the customer experience to the next level. • The kids’ fun zone is a great addition, but the way it operates with small, continuous charges on specific cards can become frustrating for families. At a restaurant where customers are already paying a premium, happiness and convenience should be prioritized over micro-payments. A smoother, all-inclusive or more customer-friendly model would align better with the experience expected from a high-standard Turkish family-style restaurant. It’s important to remember that people don’t just come to restaurants because they’re hungry — they come to relax, enjoy, and create happy memories, especially with their children. Overall, Ziyafat Restaurant is a place we love and appreciate. Despite a few areas for improvement, it is definitely worth visiting, and with some fine-tuning, it could easily become one of the top dining destinations in the city.

EDIT: I'm changing my review. Since first opening years ago the quality of the food has gone down significantly and even the Afghan dishes don't taste very Afghan anymore. Kabobs: lamb/sheep kabobs are Afghanistan's most popular food. Juicy, savory pieces of meat with pieces of tail fat are traditionally served on Afghan bread. But Ziyafat has decided to now serve dry, spicy kabobs WITH NO LAMB FAT. I rarely ate the non-Afghan dishes (because who comes to Afghanistan to eat Chinese food?) so now that they've also messed up the Afghan food, I have no reason to come here any more. Original Review: I've eaten and had take-out/delivery from here multiple times. The good: Large selection of foods (Afghan, western, pizza, burgers, Pakistani, Chinese, etc) Kabob without MSG (almost all kabob restaurants out MSG in the kabobs) Beautiful decor Private seating areas Friendly staff 🙂 Valet parking 🅿️ Fast delivery (usually) 🚚 Clean, can't remember getting sick The bad: Food is never consistent. They make some dishes differently every time. Staff, although friendly, seem a bit incompetent. They say they will honor requests but that never seems to materialize. Either that or the chefs just don't listen. Always have to send food back because of this. If you order delivery, your food may not be fresh. Got chapli kabob made with what appeared to be rotten ground beef 🤢 I'm told this is common in restaurants in Kabul where dine-in is fresh but they send old or leftovers for delivery

I rarely feel compelled to leave negative feedback, but after dining at Ziyafat, I believe it's necessary to share my experience in hopes of encouraging improvement. From the moment my party and I entered, the atmosphere was unwelcoming. The waiters greeted us with visible annoyance rather than warmth, setting a disappointing tone for the evening.

Our attempt to place an order was met with procrastination and indifference. One waiter, upon being informed we were ready to order, chose to attend to other tasks, completely disregarding us. We had to seek assistance from another server, who, albeit eventually took our order, did so with a lack of enthusiasm that was hard to overlook.

The service continued to plummet when our request for the meals to be served simultaneously was ignored, resulting in a fragmented dining experience. As a chef with two decades of experience, I could discern that most of the dishes served to us were not fresh but rather thawed and reheated. This was not only disappointing from a culinary standpoint but also raised concerns about food quality and safety. To our dismay, the lamb curry contained small, sharp bone fragments, one of which caused my cousin to break a tooth—a clear testament to the lack of care in the kitchen.

Throughout our meal, not once did any staff member inquire if our dining experience was satisfactory, missing the mark on basic hospitality standards. Furthermore, despite explicitly requesting a larger table to accommodate our group and our order comfortably, we were relegated to a cramped table near the restroom. This decision was made even though I had expressed willingness to wait for a more suitable seating arrangement.

My intentions in sharing this review are not to harm but to highlight areas in dire need of improvement. Dining out is not just about food; it's about the experience. Unfortunately, Ziyafat failed to deliver on both counts. I hope this feedback serves as a constructive critique, prompting Ziyafat to elevate their service and...
