I was a bit hesitant to try this restaurant at first because of the mixed reviews here on maps, but after trying it, I was pleasantly surprised.
The service was great; the waitress was very polite and cheerful. The restaurant was extremely clean and very well-decorated. The food was tasty as well. I enjoyed the Chicken Caesar Salad, as well as the Chorba Frik soup and Bourek that came with it. I also liked their special mixed fish of the day; which had three kinds of fish cooked in different ways, served with risotto, spinach and mashed potatoes. The spaghetti with shrimp was my favorite dish; the tomato sauce was very well seasoned and the spaghetti itself was full of shrimp. The Paella I ordered was well garnished and it tasted good, but I felt like it needed a tiny bit more seasoning and a couple of more minutes on the stove.
This restaurant is a bit pricey, so make sure you got some money on hand. The Paella costs 2900da per portion (could be enough for two people), and the Mixed Fish was 3800da (which I honestly thought was a bit much given the quantity).
Overall, I enjoyed my experience at El Walima restaurant. If I were to return to Annaba, I'd definitely eat there again. Next time, I'd order a Caesar Salad, a Shrimp Spaghetti and try a dessert as well.

Read moreTwo of us had dinner there Thursday 27/5/2023. We ordered fish soup which was ok and the main course as a dish of the day mixe fish. The main course was terrible very dry over cooked tuna steak two rougie fish very dry and looked like it was cooked few days ago. Given the prices they charge it is a rip off and I would not recommend it to anyone. The restaurant was clean but the service was inexistant. I was horrified when I saw the waiter pick up the croutons served with the fish soup from the returned plates and put them on another to serve to the next customer. Basically they reused everything that comes back from a table which is disgusting. Don’t they earn enough from their prices to do this. Very unhygienic and unhealthy. We had to break the croutons in our table so they can’t use them. It is a shame I thought business people have improved but obviously not. Just money grabbing not...
Read moreFrom the United Kingdom visiting Algeria, I must say this would be the best resturant in Annaba.
The food you can tell was prepared with love, care and was delicious.
I was impressed by the professional kitchen both upstairs and downstairs, I even met the chef which was in uniform but also an aunty who cared to speak to the family it all looked and tasted very clean. When we eat the food, it was taste and quality and the price was actually cheap compared to European standards.
For me the biggest concern was the cleanliness of the food as eating out in the summer can cause someone to have tummy problems. But the resturant was actually really nice and clean and professional.
I would highly recommend the special for the day such as Squid with sauce, the shakshuka, the breaded combaret cheese and the...
