Amazonia — Restaurant in Ben Aknoun

I recently visited Amazonia lured in by the promise of an open buffet. For 3200, I expected a quality spread, but what I got was a massive disappointment.

Let’s start with the food—or lack thereof. The buffet consisted mostly of potato salads (because apparently, variety is overrated). The burgers were far from delicious, and the “crêpes” were a sad excuse for what they should be. To top it off, the desserts were a disaster—literally frozen cake that felt old and stale, and croissants that weren’t even buttery. If I wanted bland, dry pastries, I could have just bought a random supermarket pack.

Now, the price. 3200 for this? Highway robbery. For that amount, I expect quality, fresh ingredients, and actual effort put into the menu—not a glorified hotel breakfast with leftovers.

The only redeeming factor? The decoration. The place looked great, but unfortunately, you can’t eat the decor.

If you’re looking for a nice Instagram background and don’t mind overpaying for subpar food, sure, go ahead. But if you actually want a satisfying brunch? Save your money and go elsewhere.

I'm confused why the restaurant has such a low rating on here. Me, my husband, and my mother in law are dinner here in a weeknight and had the best experience. The workers are very professional and welcoming. The ambience is definitely my vibe. It's spacious, clean, well decorated, and the lighting is just right. MashAllah.
