I am rating 5 in all categories because I really feel like they earned it. Located right at the entrance of ilha de Luanda nested in a group of other restaurants, this what is a fine dining yet trying to not be pretentious, is for me exactly that a fine dining experience but that wants to keep itself humble. I was greeted at the entrance nicely (happy to see this reception happening more these days), I mentioned it was my first time (it was in the plans for a while now) and once I mentioned that she gave me a small intro and led to the environment I wanted to stay. In there, a similar set up, a nice gentleman greeted me and had me seat and basically gave me a while run down of the place, it was nice and always smiling. The food was simply amazing, my risotto with a twist was aromatic and Al dente just like how I like, the covert with gimboa pesto, nice creation. The fried squid is totally different and really nice, the environment is cozy and there is a different ambiance for each liking... I met the chef, the owner and it was a voyage as they wish you. Food was tasty, ordered Bao but the Bao was larger than the filling, could have made the Bao smaller and with more filling! We ordered the risotto (nice, but could cook for a little longer), pork ribs (flavorful but don’t expect it like the one from South Africa) and a steak sandwich.
Menu was not the standard Luanda dish, some interesting choices available.
Service was pretty good, they were attentive.
The only con is, the access to the female bathroom is a bit inconvenient due it being a heavy sliding wooden door. Entering is fine but coming out after washing my hands, not the most hygienic after...
Read moreI am so delighted to be your guest the food was amazing and brought me back my childhood when I lived in Angola. So amazed how you managed to fuse western cusine with our Angolan ingredients or products. Once again David (the gentleman who served us) was amazing what a gentleman 5 start.
