One of our fav restaurant in Luanda, nice outdoor seating area, service was fast/efficient and friendly! Love the concept that once you are seated they offer crunchy & nice samosa/salgados from a tray - don’t skip this, worth it :-) Food no doubt was fresh & tasty with a menu of the day (options for soup / meat / fish or seafood / dessert). We have been here several times and they are consistent with the taste. My husband always like to have a fish dish here, depending what’s on offer - definitely one of their specialities. When you come in, you’ll see a window full of sweets, reserve yours already if you would like to have because by the time we finished our meal and the one I wanted (Ginguba cake) was already sold out.

I went here twice last week. Both business lunches. The first I had the seafood stew. It was good and had three whole crabs and one whole lobster with lots of shrimp and clams. Picture below. It says it’s for two people, but it could easily feed four! The second I had the grouper steak. It was tender and full of flesh. A great lunch meal! Highly recommend. I also got this Portuguese egg white dessert. It was good! Cinnamony and light, even though it looks very big. Besides the food, the view is great and atmosphere is busy and lovely during the lunch hour. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lovely view and location. The food was really nice and the service very helpful. The only restaurant in town where I could pay with an international card. Only pity was that main dish was so big I didn’t get to try any of those desserts that looked amazing. They have a good wifi too.

Dining at Restaurante Convés in Luanda was an absolutely fantastic experience that I wholeheartedly recommend. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed into an elegant, beautifully decorated space with a stunning view over the bay – a perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable meal.

The service was impeccable: attentive, fast, and always delivered with a warm smile. The team showed great professionalism and genuine care for the comfort of every guest, which I truly value.

The food, however, was the highlight of the evening. Every dish is prepared with precision, using fresh ingredients and presented with the finesse of fine dining. I had the grilled octopus, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever tasted – tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired with its accompaniments. For dessert, I chose the chocolate fondant with artisan ice cream, and it was absolutely divine.

The wine list is well curated, offering a good selection of both national and international options, and the staff gave excellent recommendations. I was also pleasantly surprised by the balance between quality and pricing, especially considering the overall high standard of service and cuisine.

Convés is undoubtedly a place worth returning to. It’s a space that combines style, exceptional food, and outstanding service. I left feeling satisfied, inspired, and already looking forward to...

My first experience... was sorely disappointed. I ordered the costeletas de porco with a side of fries and two dry and tasteless pork chops arrived with some withered looking fries unaccompanied by any sauce. I had to ask for ketchup 3 times before I was attended to, and by the time it came I had to leave. The waitress was totally unconcerned about our lack of appetite or inability to eat the food. She merely asked if I was done with my barely touched plate, and whisked off my plate when I said yes. The gindugo they brought for us had barely 3 spots of gindungo in a pool of oil... Poor food, poor service. Two stars because my companion said his steak...
