La Azulada — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

My friend and I rolled up to La Azulada to grab some eats and the vibes were 💯. We started with some apps to share - the Camaroncitos Al Ajillo (garlicky shrimp) were 😋, the Chorizo had great flavor 🔥, and the Provo Diabla cheese (spicy cheese and chicken) had our mouths watering 🤤.

For mains, I went with the locro which is a hearty stew with beans, pork, corn and squash. My homie got the La Patoruzu Clasico, one of their signature dishes, which had thin slices of juicy steak with sauteed veggies and potatoes - so good! To wash it all down we sipped on agua con gas, tea, and refreshing lemonade.

The service was great, our waiter was super chill and made some solid recs. The total bill came out to $23,000 pesos (~$46 USD) which felt fair for the amount of food we crushed, plus the vibe is 👌. We were there for maybe 1.5 - 2 hours just hanging, eating bomb food, and taking in the scene.

Overall I'd give La Azulada 5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. It's a great spot to kick back, fill up on some authentic cuisine, and enjoy good company. I'll definitely be coming back here with friends when I'm craving some casual yet delicious...

We haven’t had a good experience at all. It seems like a very nice and fancy restaurant, but me and my partner were treated very poorly. Wouldn’t go back!

Our story: When we arrived a lady told us where we could or not sit – it seemed very random to be honest – so we sat down, got the menus that didn’t have the prices of anything! A man came and asked what we wanted, we asked for the only cabernet sauvignon blanc they had. It’s a very warm summer here and the wine came hot. We waited to get our starters, the waiter basically threw the plates on our table, barely looking at us, and, spoiler alert, the wine never got cold at all. We asked for a different one and the waiter didn’t help us at all. We had a long wait to get a new wine and the food was getting cold. At the end, as we insisted, he said he only had “the expensive red wines” in the right temperature. As we asked for the bill, he didn’t look at us again, so we left with a hot white wine and a terrible impression...

Fue mi primera vez en La Azulada, el servicio estuvo acorde, la comida y la limonada muy ricas, y me gustó mucho el mousse de chocolate amargo para postre. Pero hubo un pequeño incidente que me llamó la atención y sobretodo porque actuó como un factor decisivo. La Suciedad de todos los Ventiladores colgados arriba de las mesas de los comensales en el salón Personalmente no me fijé de inmediato, por lo que, quizás no lo habría considerado un detalle importante para empezar. Pero lo quiero marcar precisamente porque fue impactante e influyente en la decisión de dónde nos sentiríamos todos. Algo que sí importa en la experiencia general al visitar un restaurante o local gastronómico. Hay historias de gente que se ha sentado en la misma mesa durante años de visitar un restaurante por N motivos memorables para ellos, podríamos ser parte de esa gente. El cliente fiel a sus recuerdos y la asociación de ellos con un lugar frecuente. Nosotros eramos un grupo de 10 personas, casi todas las mesas estaban desocupadas tanto adentro como afuera y apenas llegamos nos quedamos eligiendo hacia qué lado sentarnos en el salón; en el momento alguien mencionó que era preferible que nos fuéramos a sentar afuera, destacando a los ventiladores como motivo; y que al estar allí comiendo, podria pasar que se cayeran residuos de esa suciedad hacia nuestros platos. Quizás suene demasiado supersticioso. Pero es de conocimiento general que con los alimentos existen varias susceptibilidades; y también que cabe a cada consumidor elegir quedar o no en ciertos lugares. Podria no pasar nada en absoluto, por supuesto, pero era evidente el estado de esos ventiladores así que le hicimos caso. Nos sentamos afuera y pasamos una muy linda y larga velada, hasta que vino la tormenta de lluvia y nos tuvimos que mover al salón. Ya habíamos terminado hacía rato así que vino bien para irnos despidiendo. En cuanto se acalmó la tormenta nos fuimos. Nunca se llega a agradar a todos, lo sé. Pero la Azulada es un lugar hermoso y con muchas posibilidades y recomendaciones, pero cada detalle cuenta en la experiencia del usuario.
