I suppose it was the contrarian in me that decided to order the pulled-pork sandwich instead of the burgers the joint is named after, but I've reached burger exhaustion, I think, at least for the time being. I'm staying a couple blocks away and had seen this place gets busy during lunch hour.
But I managed to come in during a shift change so my interaction with the cashier was a bit confusing. You order at the counter and get your food from a window, btw. She thought I ordered two sandwiches, and looked at me funny when I asked why the bill was so big; and she had no change when we finally straightened things out. It took a good 7 minutes to get change from somewhere. The only reason I knew what was going on was because I've worked in a restaurant. She herself said nothing to me when she left the counter, leaving me and two other people shuffling their feet. The other two workers hanging out at the counter didn't say anything either, or even look at me. I'm not sure I could have heard them anyway over the din of talking in the room and loud music blaring.
So: Training, people, training.
It took even longer for me to get my sandwich. When my number came up I had to reach over stacks of cola cans in the serving window, which were waiting there for someone to restock the stations. I decided to eat outside on Avenida de Mayo even though it was really windy that day because the free spots still had dirty dishes from the lunch rush and every half-clean table seemed to be located under a speaker.
The pulled-pork sandwich was not bad, tender, but nothing like the sticky-sweet 'n' smokey bbq you might be used to in the better joints in the States, and the fries were pretty good, especially since they're only 35 pesos more with a sandwich. The bun was rather gummy.
But everything was good enough to come back and try a...
Read moreI dont recommend this place. They are dishonest. They stole from us in our faces. We were there today before the lunch rush and the second we stepped out the door we realized we had left an e-cigarrette on the table. Turned around to go get it back and it was gone. The waiter was clearing the table but said there wasn't anything there and that he didnt find anything, which is unbelievable keeping in mind that the place was empty and we had left the table less than a minute ago. Obviously every other employee played dumb. This place is full of dishonest people.
Read moreAfter reading the reviews I expected the burgers to be exceptional however I was let down a bit. I got the genesis burger, which is basically the regular with french fries. Cheese wasnt melted and the meat was cooked to much. The fries were crunchy and tasted good however the burger was ‚mid‘ to say the least.
Maybe go there for lunch or very late for a regular argentinian dinner because we were there very early for dinner and most of the people were just drinking beer.
I‘ll definitely not go back for the burger, maybe for a beer and some chit-chat with...
