Anastasio El Pollo — Restaurant in Distrito Chacras de Coria

Anastasio El Pollo is a true parrilla experience tucked down in the small town of Chacras de Coria. My cousin and I were staying in town and stumbled across this place our first night and enjoyed it so much that we came back a couple days later! This is a no-frills restaurant but the food speaks for itself. The open fire grill at the forefront of the restaurant was added to the experience, the waitstaff was nice and attentive, and the local dogs who sat at our feet while we ate were adorable and added to the atmosphere.

Over our two visits to Anastasio El Pollo, we enjoyed the empanadas, cesar salad, grilled chicken, fillet, and rib eye, served with french fries and grilled vegetables. We stayed at Lujan de Cuyo for our wine tasting tour. We found the village of Chacras de Coria by a recommendation of a local person. He suggested to visit Anastacio for Argentinian asado. This place was hands down the best parrilla restaurant we ate at in our two weeks in Argentina (including restaurants in Buenos Aires). The vacio (see pic) was incredible, so well cooked (crunchy outside, juicy inside) and delicious. The 'costillas de cerdo' was also amazing, perfectly cooked as well and a perfect starter for the main plate. The vacio was the special of the day and it was very well priced ($40,000 pesos, about $35 dollars) and it can be shared by 3 people. Amazing local asado place - would recommend 👌. Food was amazing and cooked over a traditional Argentinan fire asado barbecue. Portions were also very generous for the price (which is great value). If getting a platter, remember not to eat all day to save room in your stomach! You will surely struggle to finish it all! Service was great also.
