Berlina Mendoza Peatonal — Restaurant in Mendoza

NOT SAFE!! I went to grab a beer here and while sitting outside numerous people came up to our table trying to sell tissues or bracelets - well, in reality they just want to distract you while they steal from you. When I ran up to tell the staff/security guards that someone had stolen from our table, they shrugged and said "IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME HERE." You'll see at least 3-4 staff/security guards outside not doing anything and just watching tourists getting ripped off or stolen from.

EDIT: The owner and staff clearly know there is a problem with stealing AT THE RESTAURANT (the owner basically acknowledges this in his response). If the owner cared about safety of his guests he could easily fix the problem by roping off the area or having the security guards stop people from just approaching tables at random. Neither was done despite this happening "all the time."

If the owner doesn't want to read reviews in English, he should be fine not taking $$ from...

This is one of my 2 favourite restaurant/bars in Mendoza. It is right in the heart of the city. What makes this restaurant special is their staff. Deviva, Santiago, Angel were all here last year when I was here for the summer. They are very nice to everyone and very hard workers. This year, Alan has joined the staff. A very hard-working young man who never stops, always watching everything to be sure the customers are served and happy. He is a great addition to the staff, speaks flawless English, and very customer orientated. I have been in the service industry as an owner for over 40 years and this young man impressed me from day one, they are lucky to have him. I hope that they will all continue working here, for it wouldn't be the same restaurant...

We were asked to pay for our beers each time we ordered. As we were two, and drank 6 beers in total, this meant paying by card three separate times. Very inconvenient. Especially since as foreigners, we pay a tax on top of each card payment. Quite off-putting to have to pay each time you order a beer and not be able to just settle your bill at the end like everywhere else. I also found the beer pretty lacking in flavor.
