Agape Refectory — Restaurant in Vagharshapat

What an exceptional restaurant in an exceptional ancient setting. The atmosphere and music takes you back to another time. The owner and chef is passionate about his dishes and recommended two outstanding dishes for us. One an ancient lamb soaked in pomegranate juice recipe and another, soft succulunt beef in a local herb. The food was the best we have had in Armenia so far and that says allot. Nothing good besides amazing location with Ararat view from the terrace. Bird portions, horrible(!!!) service (a first in Armenia really, so I’d say they had to really try hard to be THAT bad), bathrooms are just very sad (clean but i haven’t seen such bathrooms anywhere besides old country clubs in villages). Terrible service and terrible food. Observing around I heard same comments... Food is not arrived, is not as it's written...Don't order the "historical" chicken plate, it's a scam: a fruit salad with tasteless chicken. Where is the sauce? And I seriously doubt its historical origins... Potatoes and soup were also not good. And it's not cheap!!Pity, the place is actually...
