It was a cold day, and nothing is nicer on a cold day than a warm bakery and a good sausage roll, and this was both. Actually an excellent sausage roll - flaky pastry, nicely seasoned, large enough to constitute a meal, one of the best I’ve had. The soy hot chocolate was nice too. Pleasant people at the counter, clean and tidy place, lots of other packaged stuff (like sweets, pickles) as well as a full range of their bakery goods, pastry, etc. Nice to sit at the bench in the window for a quiet bit, though plenty tables for more conversational seating. Visited this bakery a few years ago with our kids and remember having a decent meal. Had a pie and chips deal and everyone was satisfied. Unfortunately couldn’t say the same for our visit today. We had 4 different pie varieties and the sausage roll and although did not rate the pies, the sausage roll was very dry and couldn’t finish it. There’s no meal deal options like there use to be, eg burgers, chips etc. Sons drink from the fridge was out of date and the decaf coffee was apparently no good so had to change my order. Dec 2024 - The bakery is tucked away in a corner of the small shopping area, next to the large op shop opposite the pub. Great little set up inside with tables for customers. There is also some outdoor seating in front of the shop, or choose the seating in the small park. Friendly service to constant stream of lunch time customers. Great selection of hot and cold food.
