Angove McLaren Vale Vineyards and Cellar Door — Restaurant in Adelaide

Final Update: I received the new delivery, which included not only the correct bottle of Gin but an additional bottle of Gin and some mixers, with a nice apology note. I appreciate the effort they have gone to, to make up for our experience and I have increased my star rating accordingly. Update: they have contacted me about the delivery error and have offered to send the correct bottle of Gin along with an additional bottle to make up for the error. I will update again once everything arrives. Paid for a gin tasting here. Not impressed at all. I doubt they could have physically put less gin in the tasting glasses. The talk about the gin was good, however, they mentioned adding water or other thing to the gin to get different aspects of the taste, however, there was so little gin in the glass it was impossible to do any of that. Not sure if he though we were not worth the effort or what was going on. I should have spoken up but it was our first stop of the day and I didn't want the ruin the rest of the day for us. The little I tasted was good so I did order a couple of bottle of the gin, delivered as we were on a cruise, however, they then sent the wrong items, I contacted them to let them know and and they said they would get back to me and then nothing, still waiting for a resolution. Visited Angove for my birthday lunch, the atmosphere, surroundings, views, lush green grass, freshly growing grapes, hills, service & food were all great.

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome & relaxed.

We loved the way all the tables were arranged so the seating was facing the views / vineyards. The restaurant was so clean, fresh & modern & the views were the icing 🧁

We arrived at 12:30 to an empty restaurant but it filled up quickly reflecting on how popular this winery is.

We ordered from the a la carte menu & we were not disappointed.

For entree we tried the arancini, scallops & zucchini flowers & all were exceptional.

For main I chose the roasted eggplant dish, this was served with the most amazing curry sauce that was soooooo delectably tasty & the baked pumpkin dish - both dishes were next level yumminess - omg!! 🤤

My husband chose the grass fed sirloin which was cooked to perfection & bursting with flavour, also with a delicious sauce.

The food & service was exceptional, with so many wineries to choose from in McLaren Vale it was difficult to choose one, we are very glad we chose this one & are looking forward to visit again next time...

I have been a regular at Angove Winery McLaren Vale Restaurant for two years now. Having visited many other winery restaurants in the McLaren Vale area, I have to say it is the standout head and shoulders above the other restaurants. The food is spectacular innovative, incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality that you receive. The wine is superb, and I particularly like the Warboys 2019 Shiraz Grenache. The personalised service that we receive every time we go there is outstanding - they make us feel like part of the family. There is a table reserved for us every time we go there in our favourite spot. The Angove restaurant team can’t do enough for us. This restaurant is an undiscovered gem. If you’re looking for somewhere special for lunch with an amazing ambiance and outlook over the vines and hills, spectacular food and wine and incredibly personable service, look no further.
