I hate to rate a place only one star and only on the one and first visit and could have been a one off incident, but it doesn't justify it regardless when you're paying for food, and we especially came here because of mostly good reviews and recommendations, but last time I believe a google review saying the "best Indian restaurant in Adelaide" 🤦🤦
Yes we could have said something at the time and they will apologise like they would anywhere else and offer to recoil the food but when you've had a mouthful of food that isn't fresh at all, you wouldn't want it replaced or bother with the fuss.
Bollywood mixed grill platter, three overdone, touch lamb chops which we're clearly close to use by date I'm sure, if the overcooking hides it, the sore belly afterwards definitely is a giveaway... We should have stopped with the platter and left. Seekh kebab was overdone, one more than the other, and chicken tikka was scraps, leftover pieces. Nothing on this plate tasted fresh, and definitely wasn't fresh. The presentation isn't even worthy.
Mango chicken, which caught my eye from other people's posts; well remember the scraps of leftover chicken tikka? They were in the mango chicken. I mean maybe this place uses chicken tikka pieces instead of fresh chicken pieces in their mango chicken (even under all the mango sauce the chicken chunks were clearly red on the outside and had that red tinge inside when you cut the chicken) but it definitely wasn't fresh chicken.
Keema naan, the bread was made fresh and was amazing but the Keema (mince stuffing) was dry and again tasted off.
They weren't busy, they weren't flat out, we were the only ones dining there, the waitress had disappeared after collecting our plates and two kitchen staff were in the kitchen cleaning for close (we were there around 7.30 to close to closing) and had to get their attention to get the bill and pay... And to let them know our masala tea did not get brought out after the meal. In all, a very disappointing dinner that left us not feeling the best later that evening and most of the next morning.
Sorry, but a No...
Read moreWe had a delivery at 6pm. 5 min away in. North Haven. Everything was cold. Biryani less that average quality, mostly white rice with chicken. Then the Lamb roganjosh is a MEAT curry. I added only some eggplant and paid an extra dollar for that, but we got cauliflower, carrots… and other vegetables??and where is the lamb? We got 3-4 cubes. How much is a leg of lamb? Dish was flavourless because it was basically a vegetable dish. Wow! Then, Palak Paneer should be full of green spinach with white cottage cheese, no tomato and not a tasteless orange muck. Butter chicken was ok, cold but ok. Overall, awful experience. So disappointed! Naan cold. Goodbye 87 dollars. I tried to ring 2 times before posting this at 18.30 and 19.00 the place is obviously closed? Did...
Read moreAs per the previous review, my partner had a birthday party booked. We live locally and there was definitely a power outage to the north haven area, infact I was in the carpark when the power went out. The owner of the Bollywood restaurant invited all 11 of us inside to sit in the warm and waited as long as he possibly could in hopes that the power was restored to the complex. He was so welcoming and kind and would have lost a lot of money from what had happened. My partner and I returned the next night (tonight) because we wanted to support this wonderful local business and the people are so friendly. 5 stars all around for friendliness, delicious food and a warm and wonderful atmosphere. Thank you so much Bollywood and we will be back again and again. You...
