My grandparents went to lunch here and asked about vegan options, as we would like to arrange a family lunch for a birthday. The waiter seemed disinterested, but she sent me the link for the business anyway so I could have a look, as I'm allergic to dairy and have adopted a vegan diet to accommodate my complex health needs. I called yesterday to ask if there were any vegan options, and was told a flat NO. I asked if any vegetarian options could be made vegan, maybe thinking the dairy removed from vegetarian options would be suitable. I was briefly put on hold, and then informed the Chef has also said NO, NOTHING can be made vegan. What an absolute farce, it sounds like they need to hire some more knowledgeable cooks in the kitchen and maybe some front of house who actually care about the dietary needs of their patrons. In this day and age, one option is the bare minimum, and most places offer numerous options that can be made vegan to cater to all dietary needs. It shouldn't even be because of my health or allergies, there aren't really any excuses for lack of options, let alone the poor response from the staff. Absolutely...
Read moreI have enjoyed eating at the cafe Abriccaa which is now named Palermo Last few times our orders were forgotton about with only a handful of customers, next order we received food which we had not ordered. Today was New Years day so the place was busy, we waited for well over an hr for a small pizza. Coffee and cake. Also noticed that some customers that came in later than others already waiting for lenghy periods were being served. There appeared to be no one in charge supervising. 2young females and 1male were waitressing. They were not pleasant at all rude and literally threw the cutlery down on the table also fogetting side plates etc. More staff were needed. Having eaten at the Paloma a few times prior when not busy the 2 waitresses always look miserable. They looked and behaved like they hate their work. No social skills Previous staff were great, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Having said that the plus is coffee is always good and a few items on...
Read moreHaving never eating here before - after the shut-down of restaurants and cafes due to Covid-19, we were happy to discover Palermo for the first time. Restaurants had only been open to outdoor diners - so this was their 3rd day of opening under the new guidelines. The wonderful welcome & service we received (about 4pm - neither lunch nor evening dinner time) was second to none. We were assured we would receive full table service and the best pasta in Adelaide! We ate Fetuccine Marinara & a Creamy Gnocchi dish - both were delicious and perfectly presented. The seafood in my Marinara was so fresh and delicious and perfect to eat overlooking the marina. It was the first meal out we had eaten in several months and we appreciated it even more with the impeccable service, friendliness, cleanliness and the delicious food & drinks. I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope we can eat there again next time we are in the area. Claire...
