Visited today to have lunch with a friend. While I understand cost of ingredients has gone up there is no excuse for selling food that is not advertised. A microwave potato is not the same as baked potato that you have advertised is in the shop. While we appreciate that the manager came out saying everyone has different styles of eating I feel it is very unfair to pay the going rate for what we expected to be a proper portion size and it would not have been enough to even feed a small child. Being on a pension means we do not go put often. We were very disappointed today with both the food and customer service. Mediocre at best. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone at all.
Excuse you. If explaining that my friend had expected a baked potato she should have been served a BAKED potato not a microwaved one, so I guess you think that's rude then. I didn't know anything about the can until I read your reply just now but I did ask my friend and she said she had collected a can for recycling and simply had tipped the dregs onto the ground to put in her bag. For what its worth after I questioned her about the can she said maybe she should have tipped it into the gutter or a bin she didn't mean to make anyone upset. It certainly was not done in malice as you have suggested and my friend apologies for any upset caused. We were genuinely very disappointed at the portion sizes but that's fine. Everyone does things differently. I only said something because $12 is a lot of money to pay for a "baked potato " that was only the size of a golf ball cut in half but thank you that you gave her more but she shouldn't have had to ask. When we left we made sure our table and chairs were tidy and even held the door open for an elderly couple walking in and wished them a nice day. I would never be rude to anyone but it seems to be you were upset because we said something about value for money. Will most definitely not return. It seems you have trouble with your customer service skills and attitude about receiving feedback and I do not appreciate you saying we had poor behaviour when all we did was talk about the portion size. Pensioners do not get paid much so yes $12 was a lot of money for my friend to be...

A lady took our order - which was hand written on the smallest piece of paper imaginable and then rung it up on the till and charged us.
After it had gone through she told us she had forgotten to charge for the extra shot of coffee in one of our drinks and it would be an extra 80c that she wanted cash for (which we had none on us) so we had to not have the extra shot of coffee.
Food took a while as did coffee (which came out at the same time as the food) One order had poached eggs, they were very flat and not runny (and an odd shape from whatever mould they use to cook them I’m guessing) and the HUGE plate it came out on made the portion sizes look even smaller than they were
Second meal had fried eggs. Yolk was runny which was good but whites were very dry and crispy. And there was
All in all for the money spent we were very...
Read moreAt first glance, this unassuming, non-pretentious cafe in the heart of a bustling strip mall could easily be walked by without a thought, but it's actually the BEST place for good, honest, fresh food at a reasonable price. There is a sign on their counter that says something along the lines of "We don't serve Fast Food, we serve Good Food as fast as we can. Thanks for your patience" which sums up how down to earth this place is. This morning, my croissant was perfectly flaky, my coffee was good and the service was friendly and timely. Hubby had a breaky muffin with hollandaise which he said was very tasty. Its a shame that I don't go there as much because of the crummy narrow parking at Southgate but when I venture that way, I will pop in for lunch or a coffee because I'm never disappointed. Keep up...
