crumpet cafe — Restaurant in Adelaide

I ordered the crumpet florentine and only 5 minutes later get told that they have no more crumpets - at 10am with only one other person in the cafe. Not a great look for the cafe “crumpet”. Tried to order an iced long black, only to get cutoff by the cashier who assumed I was ordering an iced latte, which I corrected and said clearly that I wanted an iced long black, which I thought was the end of it until they brought an iced latte to my table. Also asked for a chocolate milk, which they said they didn’t have - until I looked in the fridge beside me to find a chocolate milk, which was then added to my order once I presented the carton. It is worth noting that they did apologise for the mixups but honestly that’s the least you can do. Lastly, it’s florentine - it says poached on the menu, so why am I getting two hard fried eggs on top of my piece of toast instead of a crumpet? I didn’t order eggs on toast, I ordered crumpet florentine, thanks. On top of that, once I finally got my iced long black, it was terribly extracted and bitter and not at all as refreshing as my usual cafe. Very disappointed, and upset that this lovely place has fallen off a cliff since I last was here.

Came in to order a simple coffee and a toastie. Menu said 7.00 for a ham, cheese,tomato toastie. I got charged 9.00 for it. I asked about it and apparently the menu was wrong and it’s an old one but it’s 9.00. - maybe a good idea to ensure the menus are up to date in the cafe.

Got my ham cheese and tomato toastie. I was expecting a nice toastie with a bit of warmth to it…. Instead I got absolute disappointment for 9.00 I know it’s not much but to me it’s a bit. I got in a foam container - Toasted bread, but the ham, cheese and tomato wasn’t even toasted in it!!!!

Ham was cold, cheese wasn’t melted basically used plastic cheese and tomato was doused in salt!! It was grosse…. If you’re going to charge 9.00 for this crap I might have just made it myself for 3.00! Was basically through together...

I recently visited Crumpet Cafe for breakfast and was blown away by the quality of the food and service.
