We recently visited the Eureka Tavern for a classic pub meal and were genuinely impressed by the generous portions and overall quality. The beef schnitzel was absolutely massive, perfectly cooked with just a touch of pink in the centre, which kept it incredibly tender and juicy. It was one of the better beef schnitzels I’ve had in a while, and it didn’t feel dry or overcooked like they so often can be. The chicken schnitzel was equally as large and just as tasty. The meat was well-seasoned and full of flavour, though the only slight downside was that the crumb didn’t stick to the chicken very well. It tended to flake off when cutting into the meat, which didn’t take away from the taste but did affect the texture just a little. Both schnitzels came with a side of chips and salad. The chips were hot, crisp, and well seasoned, while the salad was fresh and provided a nice balance to the richness of the meal. We ordered Diane gravy to go with both schnitzels, and it was a definite highlight. Rich, velvety, and with a subtle tang, it paired beautifully with both meats and brought everything together. As an entrée, we tried the beef satay. While it was tasty in its own right, it ended up feeling a bit redundant, more like another schnitzel dressed up differently. If you’re heading to the Eureka for schnitzels, which are clearly their strength, I’d probably skip the satay and save your appetite for the main event. All in all, the Eureka Tavern delivers exactly what you want from a pub schnitzel, big portions, good flavour, and a satisfying, hearty meal.

Eureka Tavern is a fantastic spot with delicious food and top-notch service. The staff are friendly and attentive, making every visit enjoyable. The menu offers a great selection of pub favorites, all cooked to perfection with generous portions. Whether you’re craving a steak, schnitzel, or seafood, you won’t be disappointed. The drinks menu is also impressive, adding to the overall experience. With its welcoming atmosphere and consistent quality, Eureka Tavern is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Service was lacking, had to wait at bar quite a while for service. When meals came out, one diners meal was wrong and the schnitzel sanga had the smallest piece of bread compared to the schnitzel and it tasted tough and chewy. Staff seemed to avoid tables with no one clearing or checking on us and I had to approach the bar again for a takeaway container where I had to wait 2 minutes while the 2 staff behind the bar talked about their shifts before acknowledging me.

I have been going to this hotel for about 2 years and always play the pokies but take clients and contractors for lunches and dinners. I have had bad food and been laughed at when i ask for a doggy bag to take home for my dog because the food is so bad. ever once of a refund but that is ok I play the pokies to relax probably 4 nights a week and know the staff there and have helped most of them over time with their property issues. The last 4 weeks i have been treated badly by 2 managers. I never get asked if i want a coffee they don't speak to me and when i come the security guard offers me a coffee for them. they are so lazy you are lucky to see them come from behind the bar. sometimes if you go to the bar there is no one there either. I am always kind and i spend a lot of money there, but Matthew and Kyal have been the worst managers i have ever met including I was drinking a coffee with a 70-year-old friend the other evening and Kyal kicked me out but could not give me a valid reason. e scared me as he towered over me and i asked if security could walk me out. he said no! I know the guard on duty and contacted him to walk me out because Kyal made me feel unsafe. I had just put $500 into a machine. How do these young people get away with treating customers of a hotel like that. I worked there myself 25 years ago and it was unheard of. what happened to customer service. do they think everyone will come and spend big bucks there, so they don't have to worry. I have contacted the manager and had no response which is very upsetting for the ALH group. I am a well-known businesswoman which it seems these 2 managers are running off their mouth about me to my customers that they personally know, and people at the hotel. yet i have helped them with finance and advice every time they have asked and calmed other customers down for them so there is no issues and even given them big tips. Matthew even tried to give me money to play a machine for him at the hotel when he was a manager there and i refused. Great the hotel is open until 5 am but don't expect any service when these 2 are on and don't be friend or be kind to them as they will do whatever they can to harass you and if your female be careful because one of them will stand over you so you don't feel safe. No one wants to take responsibility for this. Plenty of other pubs in Salisbury and I have not been back since and will not go to Stockade either because they are owned by the same group.

I must also say though that they have some really good staff their Kylie and Faye the managers are always nice to all their customers, they offer coffees and are kind and have great customer service skills. Locky another great staff member and a credit to the venue, he works so hard and if any of these 3 are on duty they service is next to none in the area. The guards Sam especially, (every Local knows him and has such respect), Udo and a couple of the new guys are outstanding. Im am sure if asked other regulars will say that these 2 lads do not put the effort in whilst working there to give anywhere near the service Kylie, Faye and Locky do.

Try the Salisbury Tavern they have nice staff and good food

I was a client, they became to know i was a local business owner so all always asked me for advice which i love helping people. then this is what i get in return when i was spending big bucks there Very Sad PS don't let the kids go in the playground there as prior to this happening they only have cleaned every 6 months if you're lucky which was advised to me by these 2 managers when i brought my family there. Germs...

Went with partner and elderly Mother last night for tea. Didn't have a booking, and staff member was quite abrupt saying 'we're not taking orders tonight as we have a function, (kiddies 1st birthday party) but now your here we will do it just this once'.. her tone was very condescending and quite rude, and as we never normally needed to book, so we didn't realise, hindsight, we should have just gone elsewhere, wouldn't have been an issue. My partners Mum ordered Fish and chips, but requested only one piece of fish, as two pieces is too much for her. Staff member said coldly - 'No- you get two pieces, as it comes with 2". My partner says ' but she can't manage 2 pieces' to which the staff member tells him then, 'give it to someone else' My partner then said, 'well no one else would want it, can't you just put one piece on her plate?' ..reply - "NO"... with much huffing and puffing from the staff member.

Ok...fine. So after the meals came out - 45mins later, not only were they cold, but literally just slapped on the plate. Our chips were cold and soggy, the fish batter was soggy...and my corned Silverside was dry and crumbly, plus the white sauce was bland and tasteless. Plus my roast pumpkin was burnt, and the other veggies were hardly cooked. Very disappointing attitude from the staff, mediocre food, and a very limited menu. Not sure what has happened to this pub.. but it's gone...
