Oof okay, I'm going to try and be as professional as I can but this place was horrendous.
Firstly, empty tables everywhere on a Monday night, the chairs were peeling and the music was questionable. Our menus were gross, broken plastic and dirty.
When I went to order, the girls behind the counter were really loud and rude and one of them didn't even know the menu because she questioned what I had ordered.
They then asked me what kind of pasta I wanted and gave the choices of penne, spaghetti and fettucine.. that felt very strange.. I'm guessing we got packet pasta?
The girl who served our food had long hair not tied up ( food safety hazard) and just threw the plates at us..
We had ordered a vegetarian pasta, beef schnitzel and a spicy chicken burger.
The burger - the bread was stale, the lettuce was limp and they crumbed and battered the bacon... It was a hugely crumbly mess and my mouth was coated in oil.
The schnitzel was huge.. and flat.. it shredded like chicken and tasted off.. and the gravy tasted like cheese... Yes.. cheese..
Then we waited over 10 minutes before one of my dining party went to check in on the pasta.. to which we heard the kitchen yell out " oh what kind of pasta did they want?"
The meal has been completely forgotten about.. 10 minutes after that we finally received it.
The vegetarian pasta had pineapple in it.. which was strange to say the least but it was actually presentable compared to the rest of the meal..
The one saving grace was a young male server who worked very hard, he was cleaning tables, checking in on us and gave us a free drink for the pasta mishap.
One of our dining party have also come down with food poisoning...
safe to say we won't...
Read moreDecent amount of surrounding parking. Walking distance from a train stop. Great staff. Great food. Generoua portions. Great spacing (not cramped). Accesible toilets. Friendly staff. Cater for many dietary requirements. Indoor/outdoor seating options. Only one thing I'd change: music was a little loud for a quiet night but it didnt ruin dinner conversation. We're really glad we saw Maranello on FB tonight and decided to just go. We were excited by the amount of parmi topping options yet neither of us ended up choosing a parmi! I had the protein nachos with pork and they were the best nachos I have ever eaten and such a large serve, there was more than just corn chips towards the bottom (unlike some places that only put stuff on top!) Their cheesy garlic bread was the best we have had and my husband really loved his burger and isn't easy to satisy but he was so happy with it all as was I. Both employees we encountered were friendly and easy to talk with. It was a great night and well spaced, I was very comfortable (not basically touching strangers chairs like some places layouts). They had large option for drinks and food and cater for many dietary needs with their regular menu. The portions were large and definitely well worth it- their $$ for meals were slightly below average AND bigger portions AND tasted better than many places we have spent more at for disappointing food. We aren't local but we will happily travel the distance again when we want to eat out next and plan to drag our family along. There's a lot more we want to try!
We will be back and will be...
Read moreSpecial evening thoughly spoilt by a staff member. She was giving off a I am busy atmosphere when I went to order. As I didnt mind waiting to get served I waited patiently. The place was emptying out for the night so didn't expect any further service issues. Obviously she didnt know what was on menu so misheard what I said. Then when she repeated order back to me she spoke too soft, quick and the music was loud. That was my mistake not to admit my difficulty in hearing as my prawn and onion plate became onion only! So when i got my meal and said it was wrong not only did she forcefully state I did not order what I know I did, BUTafter the third time I said I did order prawns she told me prawns and onions wasn't on the menu. I know it was because I took the menu with me to read it out. No wonder she misheard me as she didnt know her own menu!. I backed down rather than embarrass my table any further as it was obvious the staff member was going to continue to aggressively make her point and I felt belittled by her tone. We are talking about 5 measly prawns here. I was left with a plate of just onion rings which I am not that much a fan of but they would have been balanced by the prawns. Thank goodness for the lovely brown haired girl waiting the tables who it only greeted us as we arrived with a smile but was friendly when she came to collect the dishes. Have always had happy memories here. Staff training needs a big overhall before I go there again. At least familiarise staff with all the menu and turn the music down at...
