Lampshade Cafe — Restaurant in Adelaide

A quirky little place located just off Diagonal Road on a side street, the parking is terrible (not their fault) but please reward them by making the effort. It is decked out with various retro items with some really random pieces of old stereo/electrical/electronic equipment dotted around. They play old time music which is comfortable and relaxing, and their coffee is great, with a smooth taste, and a creaminess not from being milky but a combination of the blend and their excellent brewing. Their menu is very breakfast/brunch, but the toasted sandwiches (each with a name, another part of the quirkiness) are an all day sort of thing, I enjoy "The Dom" which is cheese and caramelized onion. The sandwiches are well priced, and the bread is great (I believe it is a locally sourced sourdough). The staff are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is very chilled, a great place to go and have a cup of coffee, and catch up on reading those emails or blog posts, or...

Excellent coffee!! Happy I found this little gem. It is tucked away, gorgeous scents of freshly cooked cakes and toasties hit you as you walk inside, very understated decor featuring Australian landscapes, games neatly aside for customers to use - they all seemed eco friendly. A gorgeous, hip little cafe just off Diagonal Road. The decor is a lovely mix of retro and urban funky and there's a great outdoor seating area that takes advantage of a section of road. Great music is played in the background while you sip on one of the many varieties of tea and coffee. The old-school Milo is bound to take you back to your after-school snacks.
