Noodle Box Gilles Plains — Restaurant in Adelaide

Just picked up laksa from Gilled Plains. Nice food too bad I can't say the same about your staff. One was so bored, she couldn't be bothered greeting customers, no hello, goodbye, please or thank you. Had to ask twice about your soup selection because she spoke under her breath like I was an inconvenience to her. Then when packing chairs starts banging around like she was slamming them down. When I commented under my breath she should calm down, her co worker proceeded to defend her behaviour and argue with me lol 😀 Nothing hospitable about the staff at Gilles Plains. If they don't want to work there, plenty of others that want a job. Not to mention not even wearing masks properly or not at all. Won't be returning based on the lack of customer service alone. Maybe a lesson in "service with a smile" wouldn't go astray....

May as well have thrown my money in the bin ! I ordered CHILLI basil chicken extra spicy 🌶️!! Food tasted like cardboard , and as for the extra chilli , I don’t think there was any chilli in the CHILLI basil chicken let alone extra chilli . Food was tasteless and bland , had no salt or pepper . Not to mention 3 quarters of the meal was just boiled rice and a thin layer of meat and sauce on top , so basically paid $22 for a bowl of rice -_- Don’t see the point in ordering food if you have to bring it home and add chilli , salt and pepper to help but ended up throwing it out ! Wouldn’t feed this to my dog ! Very disappointed and will be sharing my experience with others so they do not make the same mistake . Will definitely not be...

I’m glad I gave this restaurant a try despite the relatively low reviews, because it’s now my favourite noodle place! I’ve gone twice so far and gotten the Chinese combination (with spring rolls) and Japanese teriyaki noodles, and both times, my food was great. Don’t be fooled by the size of the box - it fits a lot more than you’d think, and for the price, I think the proportions of food are reasonable.

It’s quite far from where I live so I only get it when I’m in the area, but I’ll definitely be back in a few weeks to try something different from here. I highly recommend it despite all the negative reviews, as I’ve had very positive...
