The Nor East. — Restaurant in Adelaide

Came along to Melbourne Cup lunch and made up a table of six. It was a fun afternoon with sweeps numbered balls for people wearing hats and a fun sports quiz. But that's where it ended for me. There was far too many people for the size of the room, which made it difficult getting in and out of your seat. After ordering our meals and purchasing our drinks from the bar we waited for our meals which took quite awhile, but when the entrees came out there was only five. We waited a litlle while before saying something, but then we had to ask again before it finally arrived. My salt and pepper squid which was hot and delicious. Another wait for mains and the same thing we only got 5 meals. I ordered the salmon which was barely warm and very dry the chips were hot. Dessert arrived which was pavlova and I said sorry I ordered lemon meringue pie, reply- we have run out. If that was the case I would rather had the cheesecake. None of us ladies finished it as it was too sweet. 10 min before the race was due to start our table had still not been cleared. Even though the people next to us had coffees delivered and cups cleared when they had finished. I struggled out of my chair to ask if someone could come and clear the table, which they did. Think an extra person on the day was needed. It's a big ask expecting the girls to take orders serve drinks from the bar plus deliver meals and...

Price and seating availability was good. The food left a little to be desired. Curry special while missing the pappadum was tasty and had a nice little bite to it. Salad like beetroot being served with it was a little weird. I would have much preferred the pappadum instead of salad.

The onion rings and chips while cooked were flat out soggy with zero crunch, an extra 60 seconds in the oil would have produced a better experience. The rest of the meals Chicken Schnitzel and Kids Fish and Chips were good.

The extra cash for soggy vegetables was a complete waste and bordering on inedible, half the bowl went back to the kitchen.

Very different experience to the last time I was here, I'm not upset enough I won't go back (Kitchens have off days) but I would prefer the kitchen took an extra few minutes to produce a more well rounded plate...

Amazing and looks pretty good. Impressive without traffic noise on A10 North East Road as it fascinates us when the noise is toned down. It’s nice and good atmosphere also no music and distractions which is great Can spot traffic from the view of this venue and spent $26 on both the crumbed garfish ($20 special) and the Cascade Dry Ginger Ale which is superb. Space is compact not too crowded in this pub also this establishment is located near the Cheesecake Shop and the Gilles Plains Shopping Centre plus the signalised intersection at A10 North East and Sudholz Roads. Also this interior features floral decorations on the walls, cornices and the beam near the bar area. The chips are crunchy as enjoyed a $20 special. No children present during...
