Stop for lunch here last week. First issue was the lady told me no sit down and only take away but whilst waiting for the order they seated some one else in the restaurant. They we ordered two entrees and two lunch specials. The satay skewers were ok but a bit chewy. The satay sauce was yummy. The spring rolls was 90% noodles, 8% cabbage and 2% mince. They were dripping in oil and frankly disgusting. The lunch meal were 90% rice and the meat was again chewy and inedible. Even my chickens wouldn’t eat it and the eat everything. Frankly im surprised we didn’t get food poisoning from it. Save your money and go elsewhere. Better food and customer service from the streets in India.

This restaurant is located in Richmond, but parking spots are limited. We went there for dinner on a weekday, and while the dining area wasn't crowded, there were many takeout orders. We shared the sizzling beef with Mongolian sauce and the satay chicken, along with steamed rice. Both dishes were saucy and flavorful with generous portions. The beef was fragrant and tender, though it included only onions and two pieces of capsicum as vegetables. The satay chicken was not what we expected; it was both salty and sweet, and we didn't enjoy it much. Choosing steamed rice over fried rice was a good decision, as the dishes were quite rich. Overall, it was a fair experience.

Felt like Chinese food and trying to find a new place. This place was okay but didn’t taste the most authentic. The sweet and sour pork wasn’t too crunchy and the salt and pepper squid was just squid with the salt and pepper on the side with a slice of lemon, which I felt was different. The service was decent but could’ve had better table service such as bringing us more water without us asking a few times. The chow mein was probably the most intresting dish as it tasted like flat noodles. Overall it was better than other places and I’d decently try the sweet and sour pork again. Fried ice cream was also not bad

My wife and I read the positive reviews. We live nearby and frequently pass the Richmond Village. Surprised to see that the Chinese Restaurant had been there for many years and still going strong (my wife can remember getting take away with her parents as a young girl!) we decided to go there for Sunday dinner. The service was friendly and the décor tasteful and appropriate for the older style Richmond Village complex. The food was AMAZING! Fresh, steamed dim sims, followed by crispy spring rolls got us of to a good start. Matthew (4) thoroughly enjoyed the entrée. But wait! The best was yet to come. We order the sizzling beef satay, fried salt and pepper squid, chinese mixed vegetables and the famous special fried rice. The serving size was generous and the flavours genuinely chinese. Although the menu was unassuming, it was apparent from our experience that simplicity and doing it great is a recipe for success! Many thanks Richmond Chinese Restaurant for a great experience. Thank you to Holly for her friendly manner (service with a smile is a rare quality these days!) Everything was reasonably priced and there was a good wine selection. We'll definitely come back (with our...

We recently visited Richmond Chinese Restaurant for the first time and was impressed by the food, which led us to return the next day. However, during our second visit, we encountered a very upsetting situation. We ordered a large portion (even though we wanted to have the medium) of curry spicy fried rice to meet the $10 minimum for card payments. As a couple, we planned to share the meal and requested an additional fork.

To our surprise, the lady at the counter shouted at us, stating that wooden spoons are expensive and we would have to pay for an extra one next time. Despite our offer to pay for the fork, she refused because the minimum card payment is $10, making the situation even more embarrassing as it occurred in front of other customers.

This experience was quite disappointing, especially considering how much we enjoyed the food. We were there to enjoy a meal and being treated this way over a simple fork was very disappointing. This incident overshadowed the positive impression we initially had. We hope the management can address this issue to ensure a more pleasant experience for...

INAPPROPRIATE. DISRESPECTFUL. UNNECESSARY This restaurant must be situated in a crime area...or...they wish to go out of business as quickly as possible. I have NEVER experienced ANY restaurant that demands to hold your credit card immediately after you order your food and prior to eating it. I refused to allow them to hold my credit card (it's illegal)...so they went away and calculated the cost and came back to the table to get me to pay for it! Good grief!!! There are HUGE signs on the wall (inside the restaurant) saying that they have had a nasty experience (or words to that effect) and the practice of pre-paying is their policy. Indeed, the signs should be displayed on the outer door as you enter. By displaying the signs on the outside door they can ENSURE that potential customers WILL NOT ATTEND. DO NOT GO TO...
