Let me break down the egregiousness of this so-called "meal." As a frequent consumer of Chinese takeout, typically indulging in a comforting Sunday lunch, I have an extensive knowledge base of what constitutes a reasonable exchange of currency for food.
First, we have the Kung Pao Chicken – a dish I’ve been consuming regularly for years with a predictable degree of quality. However, what I received for the obscene price of $27 is nothing short of a culinary abomination. For this princely sum, I could easily have purchased two takeout meals in the City, accompanied by six spring rolls, not two, mind you, TWO, at a fraction of the cost. If this is your idea of "gourmet," then I can only assume you have yet to grasp the most basic concepts of economics, let alone gastronomy.
Now, let us address the spring rolls. Ah, yes, the spring rolls – for $9 I expected at least a modicum of decency. Instead, I received two pitifully small pieces, which I daresay are more appropriate for the snack tray of a child’s birthday party, not the "authentic" experience you purport to offer. This is an absolute travesty! I could easily find more filling snacks in the aisles of any corner store for a fraction of the price, and yet you have the gall to serve me this? A disgrace!
And as if that weren’t enough, you had the audacity to add a Sunday surcharge. A surcharge?! On a Sunday? Does your establishment possess even the slightest shred of decency or basic business acumen? The sheer existence of such a surcharge for the meager offerings you provide is beyond comprehension. It is as though you’ve thrown all reason and rationality out the window in favor of blatant profiteering.
In conclusion, I demand an explanation, though I’m certain no justification can possibly appease logical laws of basic economic transactions that you have so blatantly defied. If I wanted overpriced, low quantity food from an establishment that seeks to exploit its customers with exorbitant prices and a ridiculous surcharge, I would have chosen to dine at a fast food joint, at least they serve with a hint of respect for their patrons.
Until then, I will never grace your establishment again, and I encourage anyone with an ounce of sense to steer clear of your restaurant. You, my dear friends, have violated every conceivable standard of customer service and culinary decency.
Zero stars. I would give you negative stars if I could, but alas, even in this digital world, some things are...
Read moreDon't waste your money on this restaurant. Dont know how there are so many good reviews, must be paid reviews or friends reviews. Chicken & Sweet corn soup watered down that tastes like dishwater. 4 serves of $32.00 fried dim sims came straight from Marathon in the local frozen supermarket isle. Pork fried dumplings bland. With 15 customers in their shop we were told they were to busy to make us lemon lime & bitters drinks and all they could offer us instead were 2 cans of sprite. In saying that i guess we were thankful they gave us glasses to drink out of and the fried rice was the best part of the meal that was still pretty ordinary compared with other Chinese restaurants. Gotta give credit where it's due. Service poor to non existant. Didnt even ask what was wrong with meals as we left the meals uneaten. Bathrooms outside out the side of the building. Bill came in and were told $150.40 in cash or $160.00 on card. Do yourself a favour avoid this place...
Read moreVery pleasantly surprised. 40+ years in Australia and our experience has been that regional Chinese/Asian restaurants tend to cater more to the western palate due to demographics as well as availability of ingredients.
Oddly enough, we went to it for the nostalgia, looking for the traditional Aussie Chinese fare of the 70s-90s given the contemporary sophistication of Asian fare available in metropolitan restaurants.
We were literally blown away by the simplicity and authenticity of the food in this restaurant. We ordered a spicy twice cooked belly pork and vegetable dish and a large special fried rice to share.
The pork was scrumptious, delicately balanced and full of flavour. The fried rice look different from its metro cousins but again delicious and well balanced.
We missed out on our nostalgia and got our preconceptions corrected but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
This is most definitely...
