Good afternoon, My name is Chor from Malaysia. I was in Melbourne Australia last week and signed up for a tour package to Great Ocean Road on 17 Aug 2025 (Sunday). During the lunch break (around 12.40 to 1.40 pm) at Bellbrae Restaurant, Appollo Bay, I ordered a chicken burger price at AUD 13. As the restaurant did not accept cash, I was asked to pay by credit card.
Unfortunately, I didn’t request for a receipt, and the staff did not provide one either.
The following day, when I checked my bank account, I discovered that the total amount charged was RM 98.50 (approximately AUD 34, which is higher than the menu price of AUD 13 (around RM 37.70 based on an exchange rate of 2.9). This means there was an extra charge of about AUD 21.
Menu price : AUD 13 Charged amount : RM98.50 (≈AUD 34) Overcharge : AUD 21 I believe this overcharge may have been intentional. Could you please advise me on how can I lodge a formal complaint with the Australian Tourism authorities?
Thank you for...
Read moreVisited The Great Ocean Road 8years ago. The picturesque view of the ocean was spectacular. Saw a group of surfers surfing at Angel Sea in the cold windy weather of early October. Had hot Billy tea to warm up and Arnott's crackers with Vegemite and Lamington squares at Angel Sea. The journey is winding. The winds are strong and the treacherous waves can lead Us to believe the tales of about 150shipwrecked told by survivors of the early migrants to Australia. A brief visit to Apollo Bay and Port Campbell are good places to unwind from the city lifestyle. A beautiful place to take photos of the Twelve Apostles and landscapes of rock formation when photo taken the background looks like an extraordinarily beautiful painted picture. To have a better view of the ocean there's the helicopter ride to get a good bird's eye view. A good...
