Manor Restaurant at Cotswold Gardens — Restaurant in Armidale

The place is a bit smelly, but maybe only because it's an old building. Overall clean and tidy. We ordered 2 scotch fillets medium-rare.. They arrived as two dry over cooked steaks.. sides were nice though..

The blonde woman asked us how everything was, we said the steaks were overcooked, she just commented "oh they were not medium-rare? Ah!" And she suddenly left to attend clients who just arrived at the bar. Very rude. she did not apologised or said anything nice.. we ate just because we were hungry and not hoping to get anything better from the kitchen anyway..

Wine was also tasting like the bottle has been open for long..

First and last time...

Good service. Lovely focus on local wines and distillers. Food was simple fare done really well. Arancini for entree was tasty and balanced with pickled onion. The steak was cooked perfectly and the pork cutlet was faultless, moist and tender. The desserts needed work though. The salted caramel cheesecake was tasty but let down by the pairing with commercially made icecream. And the keylime pie was sadly lacking in lime, and the base didn't work. My family of four (2 adults/2young kids) were visiting Armidale for a night and as the restaurant at our accommodation was fully booked we looked elsewhere and found this restaurant. Our experience was faultless, staff were incredibly polite & accommodating, they went out of their way to make our kids feel welcome & the food was exceptional (barramundi & lamb mains). Only suggestion would be for a few other options on kids menu apart from the typical nuggets/fish/chips. Overall our...
