Popped in here this morning for a coffee and to see what else was on offer.

Asked the young woman serving about the fried chicken and her response was, 'I wouldn't know, I don't actually eat here."

That was very reassuring so I bought a mocha long john and a jam donut instead.

The coffee was hot but not stirred so the sugar sat at the bottom.

Perhaps she was having a bad day however with the sufference she appeared to be under; I think hospitality is not really the career choice the young woman should pursue.

All in all, sadly, not a fan.

We dropped in for a coffee and something for afternoon tea the Sat arvo after lockdown ended. The shop was very busy with customers, but there was only one, clearly overwhelmed server, who didn't seem very interested in providing service to the customers. The only other staff member was rushed off her feet cooking chips and other take away foods being ordered by customers . Our coffees were nice and hot. The cakes were nice, although there were only a couple in the mostly empty display cabinet, which looked sad, and meant there wasn't a lot of choice. Overall the presentation of the shop inside and the staff serving, were a disappointment after reading the great advertising on the front wall outside which encouraged us to go in initially. We are staying in Avoca for the grand final weekend we love visiting country towns and supporting local businesses .We decided to visit your establishment my friend ordered a focaccia that had the option of onions included on the menu board when she said to the ordering staff she didn’t want onion on her focaccia they rudely replied it didn’t come with it . She then asked for avocado and was told with a snappy response NO we “do” have avocado !! I understand that small towns don’t get many busy times but when you do your might want to have a better attitude. Word of mouth goes far and unfortunately due to how we were treated We won’t be returning to your cafe/takeaway/ fish and chips / baked goods store.
