Balranald Bakery — Restaurant in Balranald

We stopped in at Balranald Bakery around 2pm while passing through town, admittedly a little late for lunch, but we were hopeful for a quick bite. There was still a range of food available in the cabinets, which was convenient, and we opted for a couple of pre-made burgers that looked interesting.

Unfortunately, the flavours didn’t quite live up to the appearance. The burgers were a bit bland, and overall the meal left us a little underwhelmed. While we weren’t expecting gourmet at that hour, we had hoped for something a bit more satisfying.

The service was okay, but not particularly warm. The staff weren’t rude, but we didn’t feel especially welcome either. It felt a little like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers, which put a bit of a damper on the visit.

That said, the bakery itself is in a handy location for travellers, and there were still plenty of baked items available. It may be that we just caught them at a busy or end-of-day moment. If you’re passing through earlier in the day, your experience may...

My family and myself stopped in for breakfast this morning on our way through. The coffee was bland they didn’t tamp the coffee enough, it was like drinking hot milk with no coffee flavour. I ordered an almond milk cappuccino I got a flat white (at best) and couldn’t drink it, the milk also separated. We also ordered pies they were very jelly like and not pleasant. The Apple roll was not tasty and the scroll dry and bitter. Staff were nice but it was very evident they didn’t know how to make coffees They burnt the milk, the coffee wasn’t tamped down hardly at all, and they were mixing up orders very easily forgetting to add sugar in some coffees etc.. wouldn’t go back here again unless there would be...

Everything you could want from a small town bakery! A great selection of pastries (the custard tart comes highly recommended) as well as a sandwich bar with a great range of toppings and condiments. This is the kind of place where they pile on the trimmings and don’t skimp on anything. Although not exceptional, the bakery also offers some of the best coffee in Balranald and has great service.
