H&J Bistro @ Balranald Club — Restaurant in Balranald

I attended this Club this evening. They have Asian food on offer tonight. Viewing some of the dishes being brought out, they looked quite delicious! Unfortunately my own experience was not so good. I ordered “Malaysian chicken Curry” from the menu, from the breathless waitress, who literally ran everywhere! The dish was delivered. It was meat chunks, in sauce in a small bowl. I was told then, that rice needed to be ordered separately. Another trip to the counter and the breathless waitress. Rice ordered and delivered in quick time! Once I started eating the dish, I realised that the meat was actually beef, not chicken! I kept going but I found the dish had little or no flavour/taste. I have a rule not to order Asian food unless it’s on Asian run premises. In this case, the chef and waitress were Asian, so I surmised wrongly, that this would be different. To be fair to the chef, when I spoke directly with him and pointed out 1. It had no flavour/taste 2.The meat was beef and not the chicken I ordered, he apologised and offered to cook me the chicken dish. Too late for that, but he accepted the feedback graciously. No...

Where should i began.. we stumble upon this restaurant on our way to Sydney from Adelaide. Didnt expect to find such a GEM in interstate route!!

We ordered (and eaten half before we can take photo lol) fried rice, short soup and sizzling tofu. All meals are cooked to perfection we could not stand to get a takeaway (malaysian chicken curry) just in case we are hungry a bit later on the road.

Vincent the server was great and food are awesome. Very warm and reminds me of food i had back in Asia.

Worst food I have ever had, ordered the honey chicken, tasted like cardboard covered in sugar, fried rice was like eating my dogs food, T bone came out and was like rubber they cooked the crap out of it and served with frozen chips. The guy running it was running around like a wild horse not even giving us any plates to eat off. The green curry tasted like they blended grass and sugar together because they had no clue what a green curry was. It was the worst food I have ever eaten in my life and I will make sure to never come back again. EAT THIS AT...
