Ridgee Didge Cafe — Restaurant in Barcaldine

OMG, asked twice whether lattes would be served in a glass and was told they would, turned up in mugs. The look I got when I asked for a glass was precious. Also asked for a cake that the label said was from Wednesday, I was ordering on Saturday, who serves 4 day old cake. It was so stale I fear it was from the Wednesday before. Do these people understand that we are doing them a favour by spending huge amounts of money on overpriced fuel to spend money in their communities. Hubby and I had a scrumptious breakfast of poached eggs, bacon, grilled tomatoes, baby spinach and toasted sourdough. Bliss! They aren't stingy with the bacon either like many places. You can eat inside in air-conditioned comfort or outdoors. Service is fast and friendly and there's also a variety of beautiful hand crafted aboriginal items for sale. So pleased we stopped in. The food ‘amazing’ - so why such a poor rating? Research shows that head banging music is NOT conducive to the wider customer population. Especially at breakfast! In this case the music was so loud that you could not hear the squeaky little voice of the person serving and our request to turn it down was not well received & only partially attempted.
