Turf N Surf Restaurant — Restaurant in Barcaldine

We visited last week, and booked in the afternoon for that evening at 6:30. On our way there, at 6:25 we received a phone call to let us know that there would be at least an hour’s wait on meals because they had so many room service orders - they offer full room service to people staying at the hotel attached. We really had no other options so ended up going, and ended up waiting 1.5 hours to eat after we ordered our food. Unfortunately by that stage we were over waiting and just wanted to go. The food was good (cheese and bacon bread was delicious, though we wanted rissoles and lamb chops, both of which were unavailable), and the staff friendly and apologetic, but if I were running the place I would have at least offered a discount, or a free drink to placate us due to the inordinately long wait time. Unless we hear that this has improved, we won’t be visiting again, as it’s just too long to wait. I really hope it was a one off due to staff shortages or something, otherwise they really need to look at their business practices to improve the wait time. We nearly extended our stay just so that we could have another meal here!! Food and service was absolutely amazing. There was a bit of a wait but the staff were so good and let us know right from the start and even made sure that we got our appetisers early so we wouldn't be hungry while we waited for the main.

We ordered the new BBQ pork ribs and they may be the best ribs we've ever had. They were so juicy and tender and not overseasoned!! Cannot wait till we're in the area next to try some more of the menu. Will definitely be...

Stayed at the motel for 4 nights for business. I used the restaurant for room service each day for dinner and breakfast. All meals were of a high quality and the timings and orders were spot on. Over my stay for dinner I tried the Rissoles, Barramundi, Oysters Kilpatrick and Lamb Chops. All were cooked to perfection and were a great size.
