I agree with Robert Taylor. As much as I thought he might be exaggerating. Very quiet this time of year. Staff member very pleasant. Coffee was great. Pies same. However, the place is like an abandoned warehouse. Soul-less, cold, with no heating, too quiet and miserable. About 5 TVs all switched off. No music. Furniture stacked up inside like a closed down business. Paper signs on toilet door. Could it be any more neglected. Entry steps all covered in debris. Same outside. Dying plants outside. Even a piece of tinsel left over from Xmas hanging from a corner. Only ten years old and a prime position over the lake. Who the hell is the owner? And then there’s the men’s toilets. Filth beyond belief. Worse than a public toilet. Bloody disgrace. I hope the Barmera Chamber Of Commerce are reading these reviews. To show how little the owner cares, they haven’t even claimed ownership of the Google listing, meaning they can’t reply to reviews.

The lakes bakery was clean tidy and very friendly staff but the food was atrocious absolutely disgusting the only thing worth buying there is the bread I got a sausage roll that looked very nice in the hot box but after one bite realised that the centre was very very short on meat and tasted like spicy bread crumbs soaked in fat. We also bought a piece of strawberry cheesecake and a piece of cookies and cream cheesecake both tasted almost exactly the same with a very strange consistency not like cheesecake the strawberry one maybe had a light hint of strawberry and that's all. The meals only saving grace was the bacon sandwich that was very nice.

Well presented place from a far but far from good up close. The views over the lake are very nice. Pancakes were overpriced for 3 very thin pancakes that were closer to crepes. Coffee was an hr wait, we were told 20minutes although it wasn't bad coffee. Inside felt nice but was obvious it waw not well maintained with floors, doors and windows covered in smudges, marks and dirt. Water for their flowers being an off brown colour and outdoor plants dying off. This place would be a really good Cafe if it were maintained properly and some slight tweaks were made to the menu

Disgusting, beyond words of shock, left me completely speechless - I would give 0 stars if I could

mate and I were waiting in line for at least 20 minutes just to order our breakfast with a line in waiting to the outside steps 1 female operator to serve whilst walking away to the kitchen for about 3 minutes at the end of each transaction asked for a flat white - got something that looked like stirred instant coffee with little to no foam on top (don’t see how that’s possible with using a commercial coffee machine) waited 20 minutes just for a brekky burger pastries were gross, didn’t eat the pasty and quiche I ordered (bland and only luke warm) as I was ordering, I could see all ingredients were packaged from either Woolworths or coles, I even saw the carton on hollandaise sauce on the bench and I kid you not, they microwaved the scrambled eggs that a friend of mine ordered, utterly disgusting, could not eat it

As a former resident of Barmera, this place to be the the it place to go, it’s a crying shame to see the standards they have dropped to

I would urge everyone to stay clear of this place if you’re looking for a nice breakfast, you’d be wasting your time and money.

Service was okay, not great The only thing this place has going for them is the lake...

When it's very quiet it's a great place to go but day's like today unfortunately are quite common. They can't cope with the slightest busy period without falling apart. Watched at least 4 people leave the que and that's just the start and I see it regularly , wrong orders being brought out coffee taking over 20 minutes. All for the sake of maybe 1 extra staff member, or even the owner showing up to help . The girl doing the coffee would make 4 then be gone for 5 minutes delivering them when she should just stay at her post and someone else delivering them. Spoke to the girl in charge and she said yeah that's usually my job to take them out but we are busy, well you'd be a lot busier if you just learned to run it properly, the walk aways would more than cover more staff. Be a shame to see this place closed again for the sake of a bit of...
